Two arrested in Arms Act
A Case FIR No. 39 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area. The case pertains to the arrest of Deepak Kumar, resident of House No. 940/1, Gas Colony, Village Daria, Chandigarh, aged 22 years. He was apprehended on May 23, 2025, at around 9:30 PM, near Garcha turn towards Railway Station, near the forest area, and was found in possession of a Kamani Dhar knife. The accused has been sent to Burail Jail following his arrest.
A Case FIR No. 57 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya. The accused, Ajay Kumar alias Henix, resident of House No. 2564/3, EWS Colony, Maloya, aged 20 years, was arrested on May 24, 2025, at around 7:55 PM, from near Ganda Nala Kacha Rasta, Maloya, and a Kamani Dhar knife was recovered from his possession. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested in NDPS Act
A Case FIR No. 56 u/s 20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya. The accused, Rahul Singh, resident of House No. 2259, EWS Flat, Maloya, Chandigarh, aged 27 years, was arrested on May 24, 2025, at around 4:00 PM, near RC-1 School, Maloya, and was found in possession of 500 grams of ganja. The accused is currently in police lockup.
Case FIR No. 58 u/s 20 & 21 NDPS Act and 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya. The accused, Monu, resident of House No. 2571/2, EWS Colony, Maloya, Chandigarh, aged 21 years, was arrested on May 24, 2025, at around 9:30 PM, from near Shiv Mandir, Maloya, and was found in possession of 500 grams of Ganja, 20 grams of heroin (Cheetah brand), and One Kamani Dhar knife. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Two arrested in obstructing public servant from discharging duty
A Case FIR No. 61 u/s 121, 132, 285, 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-17 on the complaint of ASI Lakhbir Singh. The complaint states that on May 24, at around 5:30 PM, three individuals—Rinku, Raj Kumar (both residents of Mauli Jagran), and a woman, resident of Sector 26—obstructed a public servant from performing his duty and engaged in a quarrel near Shastri Market, Sector 22/C. Rinku and Raj Kumar have been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Snatching
A Case FIR No. 38 u/s 304, 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Jalaj, resident of Mauli Jagran Complex. The complainant reported that on May 24, at around 8:30 PM, two unknown pedestrian persons snatcheèd his Oppo A3 mobile phone from near the fish market in Mauli Jagran. The accused are yet to be identified. Investigation of this case in ongoing.
Assault
A Case FIR No. 39 u/s 115(2), 118(1), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of Rohit resident of Village Mouli, Chandigarh. As per the complaint, on May 23, 2025, around 9:30 PM, Rohit, along with Sagar and Shyam, was standing in a park in Village Mouli when two boys named Lucky and Sachin arrived. Lucky questioned Sagar over allegedly staring at his sister and began abusing him. Sagar responded by slapping Sachin, who fled the scene but returned shortly with a knife and stabbed Sagar in the back. In retaliation, Shyam snatched the knife and stabbed Sachin multiple times on his legs and body. Both Sagar and Sachin were later referred to PGI, Chandigarh. Investigation of this case in ongoing.
