CHANDIGARH, 03.05.25-The Career Counselling Cell of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised an interactive session titled ‘IELTS Masterclass’, aimed at equipping students with a comprehensive understanding of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
The resource person for the session, Mrs. Jayati Sarkar, Head of IELTS Faculty, Fateh Education, commenced the event with a brief introduction to IELTS, highlighting its significance for students aspiring to study or work abroad. She provided an in-depth discussion on the four modules of the test- Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, explaining the format, number of tests conducted, and the two modes of examination: Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Paper-Based Test (PBT). To enhance the learning experience, a practical reading activity was conducted, allowing students to engage directly with the format and develop a clearer understanding of the test expectations. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, during which Mrs. Sarkar addressed a wide range of queries, offering valuable insights and expert advice to the participants. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 91 students across various streams. It successfully achieved its objective of familiarising students with the IELTS structure and boosting their confidence to take the test in the future.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma said that this initiative of the Career Counselling Cell reaffirms its commitment to empowering students with the necessary tools and information to excel in their academic and professional journeys.
