Chandigarh: September 23-During a meeting with employees the AAP government had promised an 8 per cent increase in DA, but the official letter issued in this regard is nothing more than a betrayal of the employees. These remarks were made by Bharatiya Janata Party Punjab, ‘s State President Kewal Singh Dhillon.

According to a statement issued from the party office in Chandigarh, Kewal Singh Dhillon said that two major questions arise from the wording of the letter, to which the Punjab government has provided no answers.

He said the first question is that the letter makes no mention of the dates or payment of the pending 4-4 per cent DA instalments that have been due for some time. The letter only states that DA will be provided from September 2026.

Kewal Dhillon said the second question is that the letter also contains no clear decision or mention regarding the previous DA arrears. He said the government’s letter is nothing more than an attempt to undermine the legal battle won by employees in court over DA. This is a betrayal of the employees. This is how the Bhagwant Mann government has treated every section of Punjab, he added.

He said the BJP assures Punjab’s employees that once a BJP government is formed in Punjab in 2027, their DA will be released, just as DA was provided after the BJP government was formed in West Bengal.

Kewal Dhillon said that the Chief Minister, who did not hold meetings with employees for four-and-a-half years in Punjab, is still not refraining from betraying them even in the final phase of his government. He said the people of Punjab will respond to this betrayal in the 2027 Assembly elections, and all accounts will be settled at that time.
