Eight arrested under NDPS ACT
A case FIR No. 121 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 11 on the complaint of SI Padam Singh 1825/CHG against Nikhil S/o Kamaljeet, R/o H. No. 3181, Sector-25, Chandigarh, aged 29 years. The accused was apprehended from near 66 KV Light Point, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 6:05 PM, while consuming a narcotic substance using foil paper along with a lighter. The lighter was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.
A case FIR No. 122 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 11 on the complaint of ASI Jatinder Pal 2190/CHG against Tarun @ Tara S/o Sanjay, R/o near Gugga Madi, near T-Point, Village Jhampur, Mohali (PB), aged 29 years. The accused was apprehended from Kachi Parking, PGI, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 6:50 PM, while consuming a narcotic substance using foil paper along with a lighter. The articles were recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.
A case FIR No. 91 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area on the complaint of ASI Kulshreshth Gautam 1905/CHG against Ankush Verma S/o Ramesh Kumar, R/o H. No. 9/3, Subhash Nagar, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, aged 32 years. The accused was apprehended from the parking area in front of Elante Mall, Phase-I Industrial Area, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 8:20 PM, while consuming heroin at a public place. The accused was subsequently bailed out.
A case FIR No. 100 u/s 27 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Manimajra on the complaint of SI Anand Kumar 1813/CHG against Yuvraj Sharma S/o Rajesh Sharma, R/o H. No. 709/1, Saini Mohalla, Pinjore, aged 20 years, and Amandeep Singh S/o Shiv Charan, R/o H. No. 1420, Morigate, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, aged 27 years. Both accused were apprehended from near Kalagram Wine Shop, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 7:00 PM, while consuming heroin using foil paper and a тВ╣10 note along with a lighter. The articles were recovered from their possession. Both accused were arrested and later bailed out
A case FIR No. 171 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 31 on the complaint of ASI Vivek 1919/CHG against Nitish S/o Sh. Subhash, R/o H. No. 1414, PH-1, Ramdarbar, Chandigarh, aged 22 years. The accused was apprehended near Tubewell, 3BRD Road, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 5:30 PM. 12.54 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession along with an electronic weighing scale and cash of тВ╣1,800/-. The accused was arrested and lodged in police lock-up.
A case FIR No. 54 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 49 on the complaint of SI Amarjit Singh 1873/CHG against Deepak @ Dipu S/o Ashok Kumar, R/o H. No. 1228, PH-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, aged 26 years. The accused was apprehended near Park, Sector-48 C&D Turn, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 7:15 PM. 10.92 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and lodged in police lock-up.
A case FIR No. 166 u/s 22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station 36 on the complaint of L/ASI Asha Devi 1280/CHG against Rohit Kumar S/o Surender Singh, R/o H. No. 2781/B, Sector-42/C, Chandigarh, aged 29 years. The accused was apprehended from the library parking area, Sector-42, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 6:00 PM. 09 injections of Buprenorphine were recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and lodged in police lock-up.

No. 457, Village Mattour, District Mohali (PB), aged 23 years. The accused was apprehended near Mandi Ground, Sector-56, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 8:20 PM, while consuming heroin using foil paper and a тВ╣10 note along with a lighter. The articles were recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.
Two arrested under ARMS ACT
A case FIR No. 92 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area on the complaint of HC Inderpal 427/CP against Arjun @ Ladda S/o Late Ishwar Pal, R/o H. No. 539, Village Dariya, Chandigarh, aged 32 years. The accused was apprehended from near Tubewell Gate, Forest Area, Village Daria, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 9:10 PM. A kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and lodged in police lock-up.
A case FIR No. 101 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Manimajra on the complaint of ASI Madan 11/CP against Gaurav S/o Tikma, R/o H. No. 504, New Indira Colony, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, aged 26 years. The accused was apprehended from the near parking area, Govindpura, Mani Majra, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 10:30 PM. A kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. The accused was arrested and lodged in police lock-up.
Two arrested under GAMBLING ACT
A case FIR No. 153 u/s 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of HC Pardeep Kumar 6253/CP against Hawa Singh S/o Karamveer, R/o H. No. 53/1, Bhatta Colony, Vikas Nagar, aged 38 years, and Rajesh Kumar S/o Ram Kumar, R/o H. No. 61, Bhatta Colony, Vikas Nagar, aged 44 years.
Both accused were apprehended near Prachin Shiv Mandir, Railway Road, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, on 22-09-2026 at about 5:50 PM, while playing satta. Cash amounting to тВ╣2,900/- was recovered from their possession. Both accused were subsequently bailed out.
Two arrested consuming liquor at public place
A case FIR No. 154 u/s 68-1(B) PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of ASI Kuljinder Singh 853/CP against Sahil S/o Kailash, R/o H. No. 321/A, Sunder Nagar, Part-II, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 23 years.
The accused was apprehended near Prachin Shiv Mandir, Railway Road, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, on 22-08-2026 at about 9:45 PM, while consuming liquor at a public place and creating nuisance. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.
A case FIR No. 155 u/s 68-1(B) PP Act & 355 BNS has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran on the complaint of ASI Mukesh 1479/CP against Rahul S/o Surenderpal, R/o H. No. 2817, Mauli Jagran Complex, Chandigarh, aged 24 years. The accused was apprehended near Sant Nirankari Bhawan, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, on 22-08-2026 at about 9:50 PM, while consuming liquor at a public place and creating nuisance. The accused was arrested and later bailed out.
Cyber Cheating
A case FIR No. 155 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of Iqbal Kaur W/o Sukhbir Singh, R/o H. No. 1441, Sector-34, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that an unknown person cheated her of тВ╣1,48,502/- regarding an online payment from her credit card. Investigation of the case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 156 u/s 66-C, 66-D IT Act, 308(2), 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Cyber Crime on the complaint of Shri Pal Jain, R/o H. No. 1691, Sector-22/B, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that an unknown person cheated him of тВ╣29,80,000/- regarding an investment. Investigation of the case is in progress.
SNATCHING
A case FIR No. 108 u/s 304(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station 03 on the complaint of Sachina Nand Yadav S/o Rambilas Yadav, R/o H. No. 1034, Village Kishangarh, Chandigarh. The complainant reported that on 22-09-2026 at about 7:30 PM, a single person riding an Activa scooter, registration number not known, snatched his mobile phone from Press Light Point, Chandigarh, and sped away. Investigation of the case is in progress.
