Chandigarh, 16 August 2026: Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh Pradesh organized the 80th Independence Day at the state office ‘Kamalam’, Sector-33, Chandigarh with great enthusiasm, joy, and a patriotic atmosphere. BJP National Vice President Soudan Singh was present as the chief guest. Along with him were State President Jitendra Pal Malhotra, Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, former State President of BJP Chandigarh and current Co-incharge of Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Tandon, and State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti, along with several senior leaders of the party.
A large number of party workers including state office bearers, district office bearers, and mandal presidents from all mandals of Chandigarh Pradesh participated in the program. The entire campus reflected a strong sense of patriotism and dedication towards the nation.
On this occasion, BJP National Vice President Soudan Singh said that Independence Day is not just a celebration but a day to remember the countless freedom fighters and patriots who sacrificed everything for the independence of the nation. Today, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is moving forward as a self-reliant, strong nation and emerging as a new global power. He called upon the workers to further accelerate public service with a resolve for nation-building.
State President Jitendra Pal Malhotra said that today’s India is a confident India. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is setting new benchmarks in development, security, self-reliance, and global recognition. He said that every BJP worker is continuously working for service, good governance, and strengthening the organization while keeping national interest supreme. Building India as envisioned by the freedom fighters is our true tribute to them.
Rajya Sabha MP Satnam Singh Sandhu said that independence was achieved after the sacrifice and struggle of millions of Indians. Today, it is our responsibility to strengthen the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation. He said that India is rapidly emerging as one of the major global powers and the youth is the biggest strength of this journey.
Former State President of BJP Chandigarh and current Co-incharge of Himachal Pradesh Sanjay Tandon said that Independence Day inspires us to take inspiration from our glorious history and commit ourselves to building a bright future for the nation. He said that the BJP organization has always been dedicated to serving society and the nation with the spirit of “Nation First.”
State General Secretary Ramveer Bhatti said that Independence Day is a matter of pride and honor for every Indian. BJP workers are continuously working at the booth level to realize Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. He said that the spirit of ‘Nation First’, service, and organization is the commitment of every worker towards building a developed India.
During the program, all present workers took a pledge to strengthen the unity, integrity, and sovereignty of the nation and actively contribute to nation-building.
