One arrested under NDPS Act
A Case FIR No. 21 u/s 21 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Crime Branch on the complaint of HC Virender No. 855/CP against Parveen Garg S/o Kapil Dev, R/o #18, Sector-52, Chandigarh. The accused was apprehended near EPIS Society, Sector-51, Chandigarh on 31-07-2026 at about 10:00 PM and 88.27 grams of ICE was recovered from his possession. The accused has been arrested and lodged in police lock-up. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Cyber Cheating
A Case FIR No. 120 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station on the complaint of Amarjit Singh S/o Karnail Singh, R/o #2024/1, Sector-47C, Chandigarh against an unknown person. The complainant was cheated of ₹2,30,000 through a fake APK file downloaded for gas bill payment. Investigation is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 121 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station on the complaint of Ashok Kumar S/o Nihal Chand, R/o #3189, Sector-44D, Chandigarh against an unknown person. The complainant was cheated of ₹1,20,000 on the pretext of providing a PNB Retirement Benefit Card. Investigation is in progress.
A Case FIR No. 122 u/s 318(4), 319(2), 336(3), 338, 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Crime Police Station on the complaint of Rajiv Kumar Bindal S/o Suman Bindal, R/o #3167, Sector-21D, Chandigarh against an unknown person. The complainant was cheated of ₹3,04,999 through unauthorized credit card transactions. Investigation is in progress.
Theft
A Case FIR No. 121 u/s 303(2), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31 on the complaint of Sudesh Kumari W/o Sukhbir, R/o #761, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh against unknown persons. The accused allegedly stole the complainant's purse containing ₹40,000 cash, an OPPO mobile phone and important documents from Rana Medical Store, Ram Darbar, Phase-2, Chandigarh. Investigation is in progress.
One arrested under Attempt to Murder / Arms Act
A Case FIR No. 122 u/s 115(2), 126(2), 132, 351(2)(3), 109 BNS and Sections 25/27/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-36 on the complaint of Shamsunder, Bailiff, Court No. 2, through Ms. Sonali Singh ACGM, UT Chandigarh against JPS Chaddha S/o SNS Chaddha, R/o #2987/2, Sector-42C, Chandigarh. It was alleged that the accused fired at Manwinder Kaur with his licensed gun on 01-08-2026 at about 1:20 PM, causing injuries. The victim was admitted to PGI Chandigarh. The accused has been arrested and lodged in police lock-up. Investigation of the case is in progress.
