ChandigarhWith the aim of shaping the future of children and youth in the Ram Darbar area and encouraging them toward sports, a delegation from the 'Senior Citizen Welfare Association, Ram Darbar' met with Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu, the Rajya Sabha MP from Chandigarh, today. Dr. Dharmendra Shastri was also specially present along with the delegation during this important meeting.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the Member of Parliament for his tireless efforts and support regarding the proposed Sports Complex in Ram Darbar.
A Years-Old Dream Becoming a Reality:
The senior citizens and local residents of Ram Darbar had been striving for several years to get a modern sports complex built for the children of the area. Throughout this campaign, Dr. Dharmendra Shastri consistently guided the association and extended all possible administrative and technical support across various levels, including the Sports Department. It was through the joint efforts of Dr. Shastri and the Association that this matter was prominently raised before the Honorable MP, Shri Satnam Singh Sandhu.
Guiding Children in the Right Direction; Shining in Sports:
The primary objective of this project is to provide a premier and safe environment for the children of Ram Darbar to play after school hours. This will not only keep children away from bad company and vices but will also enable them to hone their talent through sports. The construction of this sports complex will provide local youth with a golden opportunity to carve out an identity for themselves at the state, national, and international levels, bringing laurels to Chandigarh both nationally and globally.
MP Sandhu Assures Prompt Action:
Demonstrating promptness regarding the delegation's previous demand, MP Sardar Satnam Singh Sandhu had initiated the process of translating this project into reality by holding talks with senior officials of the concerned Sports Department, which now visibly seems to be bearing fruit.
In today's meeting, the Association and Dr. Dharmendra Shastri once again urged the MP to issue necessary directives to the officials of the concerned department to complete the pending works of the Sports Complex at an accelerated pace, so that the construction work can begin at the earliest without any delay. The MP assured the delegation that he would get this work completed on a priority basis as soon as possible.
