Chandigarh, April 26:- In a firm move to accelerate the clearance of legacy waste, the Chief Engineer of the Municipal Corporation Sh. Sanjay Arora conducted a late evening inspection at the Dadumajra dumping ground today at 5:30 PM.
Reviewing the ongoing bio-mining and waste processing works, the CE issued stern directions to all concerned agencies to strictly adhere to the timelines committed before the Hon’ble Court.
During the inspection, it was categorically stated that any agency failing to process legacy waste as per the agreed targets and deadlines will not be eligible for any further payments with immediate effect. It was further emphasized that no claims or appeals in this regard will be entertained henceforth, as per prior agreement conditions.
The CE also directed the overall Incharge, Solid Waste Management (SWM), and the Executive Engineer, SWM, to ensure strict compliance with these directions. Failure to meet the mandated targets will invite disciplinary action against responsible officials.
Reiterating the Corporation’s commitment to environmental sustainability and scientific waste management, the Chief Engineer stressed that timely clearance of legacy waste remains a top priority, and any laxity in execution will not be tolerated.
