Chandigarh, 09/04/2026-A demolition drive was scheduled today in Industrial Area Phase–II, Chandigarh. Upon receiving this information, Shri Avi Bhasin, President, Laghu Udyog Bharti Chandigarh, immediately took swift action and reached out to the concerned officers

After detailed discussions with the concerned officers, the demolition drive was successfully postponed. During the interaction, Shri Avi Bhasin apprised the officers about the assurance given by the Honourable Governor of Chandigarh that no demolition or sealing activity should be carried out until the new Industrial Policy is framed.

Shri Avi Bhasin expressed his sincere gratitude to all concerned officers for their timely support and for addressing this sensitive and pressing issue.

He further stated that the modifications being carried out by industrialists are need-based to ensure smooth functioning of their units. Due to space constraints, it becomes essential for entrepreneurs to optimize available space. He emphasized that such changes are being done strictly within the boundary walls of their respective plots, and no encroachment or violation on government land is involved. These measures also help in safeguarding units from theft and other risks.

Shri Avi Bhasin also urged the Administration to expedite the release of the new Industrial Policy, so that clarity and stability can be provided to the industrial sector.
