*“Rahul Gandhi appears in different disguises every day” - Vij*

Responding to a question about a video of Rahul Gandhi going viral on social media, in which he is seen meeting a person dressed as Yamraj (the god of death) on a bus—where the person remarks that Rahul Gandhi has taken over his job—Sh. Vij humorously said that “Rahul Gandhi appears in different disguises every day, and perhaps inspired by him, this person came dressed as Yamraj.”

*“Congress is not a party but divided factions” - Vij*

On being asked about ongoing infighting within the Congress, especially in light of MLA Shailly Chaudhary’s remarks targeting Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Hooda and questioning why she should resign at someone’s behest, Sh. Vij said that “The reality of Congress was exposed during the Rajya Sabha elections, and the party has collapsed. It is no longer a unified party but divided factions that have now split apart.”

*“Digital census will provide accurate data” - Vij*

Commenting on the launch of the digital census starting yesterday, Sh. Vij said it is a very good initiative and will ensure comprehensive data collection. He added that the census will first cover households and then individuals, enabling the preparation of accurate data.

*Provide Food Supplies to Stranded Sailors in Strait of Hormuz on Humanitarian Grounds: Energy Minister, Sh. Anil Vij*
Chandigarh, April 2: Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij has urged Iran to ensure food supplies for sailors stranded in the Strait of Hormuz amid the ongoing Middle East conflict, citing urgent humanitarian concerns.
In a statement issued today, Sh. Vij said that the situation has become extremely serious due to escalating tensions in the Middle East and the continuing standoff in the Strait of Hormuz. Thousands of sailors remain stranded in the region, facing an acute shortage of food and drinking water.
He noted that a large number of ships and crew members are currently stuck in and around the Gulf region and the Strait of Hormuz. Distress messages have been continuously sent to international organizations by sailors, reporting that their food and potable water supplies have been exhausted. Several vessels are experiencing severe shortages of essential rations, forcing crews to boil water for consumption. Sailors are not only struggling with hunger and thirst but are also living in fear due to ongoing bombardments and attacks in the vicinity.
Sh.Vij further stated that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has imposed strict regulations for the passage of ships, requiring vessels to submit crew lists, cargo details and other documentation. Despite mounting international pressure, no comprehensive or organized humanitarian assistance for stranded sailors has yet been officially announced by Iran.
He emphasized that, on humanitarian grounds, Iran and neighboring countries must work together with the international community to ensure the delivery of basic supplies to the affected sailors.
