Chandigarh, February 19:- City Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi reviews preparations at Zakir Hussain Rose Garden for 54th Rose Festival-2026 today. He conducted an extensive inspection of Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, Sector 16, to review the ongoing preparations for the much-anticipated 54th Rose Festival-2026, scheduled to be held from 20th February to 22nd February, 2026.

The three-day mega floral extravaganza will be inaugurated by Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, on 20th February at 11:00 AM.

The Mayor was accompanied by Sh. Pardeep Kumar, IAS, Special Commissioner, and other senior officers of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. During the visit, he thoroughly inspected the main stage, exhibition areas, cultural performance venue, thematic gardens, food courts, children’s activity zones, and all stalls to ensure that every arrangement is in place for the smooth and grand conduct of the festival.

Reviewing the preparations, the Mayor directed officials to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, security, illumination, landscaping, and visitor convenience. He emphasized that the Rose Festival is the pride of the City Beautiful and attracts thousands of visitors from across the region.

The festival will showcase a spectacular display of hundreds of rose varieties in full bloom, alongside a vibrant lineup of cultural programmes featuring folk dances, musical evenings, live band performances, school presentations, and celebrity artists over the three days. Special competitions including flower arrangement, on-the-spot painting, rangoli, photography, and baby shows will add to the festive spirit.

A dedicated exhibition area has also been set up to highlight key projects, citizen-centric initiatives, and best practices of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, showcasing achievements in waste management, sanitation reforms, smart infrastructure, green initiatives, and digital governance. Various government departments, self-help groups, and local artisans will display their products and innovations through thematic stalls.

Food courts offering diverse cuisines, amusement rides for children, eco-friendly awareness stalls, and interactive public engagement booths will further enrich the visitor experience.

The Mayor expressed confidence that this year’s Rose Festival will be more vibrant, inclusive, and memorable than ever before, reflecting Chandigarh’s cultural richness, civic excellence, and community spirit. He urged residents and visitors to participate enthusiastically and make the festival a grand success.
