Chandigarh, 8 January: The Department of Home Science at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, under the aegis of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), organised a one-day baking workshop titled ‘Baking Bliss’ for the faculty members. The workshop aimed to promote experiential learning, skill enhancement, and faculty well-being through a creative and hands-on culinary experience.
The workshop was conducted by the resource person, Dr Rati Arora, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science. Dr Arora demonstrated the preparation of a variety of baked delicacies, including dates and walnut cake, marble cake, and donuts. She shared practical baking tips, techniques, and presentation skills, enabling participants to gain valuable insights into the art and science of baking. Faculty members actively participated in the workshop, gaining hands-on experience while learning baking methods in an engaging and collaborative environment. The workshop provided a refreshing break from routine academic responsibilities and fostered teamwork, enthusiasm, and creative expression among the participants. The event concluded with a delightful tasting session, making the workshop a memorable and enriching experience for all involved.
Officiating Principal Ms Neena Sharma also actively participated in the workshop, motivating the faculty and contributing to the spirit of camaraderie. She added that such endeavours underscore the institution’s commitment to holistic development, faculty enrichment, and well-being.
