Under the guidance of Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, U.T., Branch Chandigarh conducted blanket distribution drive at various location in Chandigarh

In view of prevailing winter season, the Indian Red Cross Society, U.T., Branch Chandigarh under the guidance of Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Chairman, Indian Red Cross Society, U.T., Branch Chandigarh conducted blanket distribution drive at various location in Chandigarh i.e. Children’s Home Snehalya for girls, Old Age Home Sec – 15, PGI and GMSH, Sector 16, , Kusht Ashram to provide relief to the under privileged section of the Society.

The Distribution was done by the team of UT Red Cross led by Ms. Punam Malik, Nodal Officer, Red Cross. This initiate was supported by M/s Bebo Technology, IT Park, Sh. S.C. Aggarwal, President, Chandigarh Senior Citizen Association, and Sh. P.K. Sharma, MD Janta Model School, Naya Gaon.

The Red Cross Society, Chandigarh, has appealed to the citizens and organizations to continue contributing wholeheartedly for the welfare of the needy and poor citizen of the city.

Declamation Competition Organised on Good Governance Day by MY Bharat

Chandigarh | 26 December 2025:On the occasion of Good Governance Day, a Declamation Competition was successfully organised on 26 December 2025 by MY Bharat Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, at the Biotech Conference Hall, Post Graduate Government College, Sector 11, Chandigarh.

The programme aimed to create awareness among youth about the principles of good governance and to encourage their active participation in the nation-building process. The theme of the competition was “Good Governance and Youth as Partners in Nation Building.”

A total of 15 students participated in the competition, showcasing remarkable confidence and oratory skills. The participants highlighted key aspects such as transparency, accountability, citizen participation, and the pivotal role of youth in strengthening democratic institutions. In addition, around 20 youth attended the programme as audience members.

After careful evaluation, the results were declared. Nakul secured the First Position, Kanav Khurrana achieved the Second Position, and Aayushi Rawat secured the Third Position.

The competition was judged by an esteemed panel comprising Dr. Monica Munjal, Chairperson, Centre for Social Work, Panjab University, and Dr. Nisha Singla, Assistant Professor, Dev Samaj College. The judges appreciated the participants for their clarity of thought, strong content, and effective presentation skills.

The event was attended by Mr. Vinay Kumar, District Youth Officer, MY Bharat Chandigarh. The smooth conduct of the programme was ensured through the dedicated efforts of MY Bharat volunteers. The organising team included Mr. Tarun, Mr. Akash, Mr. Bharat, Miss Prachi, and Mr. Nirmal.

Overall, the declamation competition proved to be a meaningful and inspiring initiative, motivating young minds to engage with the ideals of good governance and reaffirming the role of youth as key stakeholders in the journey of nation-building.
