MAHENDERGARH, 28.11.25-The Department of Law of the Central University of Haryana, in a joint collaboration with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University, Sonepat, successfully organized a virtual seminar on the theme “Constitution and Contemporary India: Rights, Responsibilities and Challenges.” The event was held in commemoration of 75 years of the Indian Constitution's journey, aligning with the vision for India@2047. It was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Haryana, and Prof. Devender Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar National Law University.

The seamless organization of the program was made possible by the sincere efforts of Prof. Ashutosh Kumar Mishra, Registrar of NLU, Sonipat, who acted as the fulcrum for the entire event. In his inaugural address, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar emphasized the need for building partnerships among sister universities to meet constitutional expectations, praising the Constitution as an organic document with solutions to contemporary problems. Echoing this sentiment, Prof. Devender Singh remarked that while the Constitution is perpetually on trial, its strength lies in consistently delivering constructive outcomes for India's thriving democracy.
The seminar featured insightful keynote addresses from Prof. Yogendra Srivastva of HNLU, Raipur, and Prof. Pradeep Kumar Singh of Banaras Hindu University. Prof. Srivastva elucidated the constitutional journey by highlighting landmark judgments that have continually infused life into the document. Prof. Pradeep Kumar Singh eloquently explored various dimensions of the theme, focusing on the imperative to bridge the gap between the aspirations of the Constitution's framers and its subsequent achievements. The session proved to be a thought-provoking and intellectually stimulating forum, brainstorming key issues from the Constitution's 76-year history.

Dr Pardeep Singh, Head and Dean of the School of Law, extended his gratitude to the leadership of both institutions, reflecting on a journey filled with both fascination, such as the Constitution's remarkable longevity, and frustration, notably the period of Emergency. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Parul, the Event Coordinator from NLU, Sonipat, who expressed sincere gratitude to the visionary leaders, the erudite speakers, the diligent participants, and the entire organizing team for their collective efforts in making the seminar a resounding success. The event was highly beneficial, engaging students and faculty from both universities.
