MAHENDERGARH, 25.06.25-Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, observed ‘Samvidhan Hatya Diwas’ to mark the 50th year of the imposition of Emergency in India. Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor of the University said that the Emergency remains a dark chapter in Indian democracy that witnessed the suppression of freedom of expression, judicial independence, and civil liberties. This day serves as a reminder for us to remain committed to safeguarding the spirit of the Constitution of India.
Prof. Pawan Kumar Sharma, Pro-Vice Chancellor said that Emergency reminds us that democracy thrives not merely through institutions but through active and informed citizen participation. Universities must become the centers of such democratic consciousness.
The programme was outlined by Dr. Ravi Pandey and Kumari Tripti Saini introduced the theme of the event. The vote of thanks was presented by Ms. Supriya Yadav. The event was attended by faculty members, researchers, students, and members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, including Prof. Payal Chandel, Prof. Ranjan Aneja, Prof. Rajendra Meena, and Dr. Narendra Singh.
