Chandigarh, June 21, 2025: North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC), Patiala (Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India) celebrated ‘11th International Yoga Day’ with enthusiasm on the theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” at Kalagram, Manimajra, Chandigarh on June 21, 2025 at 06:00 am onwards as per Common Yoga Protocol observance of the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Ms. Rajwant Kaur, Yoga Instructor, Government College of Yoga Educational and Health, Chandigarh, who emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical fitness and metal equilibrium.

Before start of Yoga session, direct live telecast of PM’s Speech on screen was witness the participants. The session conducted under expert guidance of Yoga Instructor, attracted a diverse participation of approx. 650 persons including yoga practitioners, senior citizens, children, youth, artists etc. Officers & staff of NZCC also attended the event. The yoga session included various asanas and meditation techniques, creating an atmosphere of serenity and mindfulness. Participants felt rejuvenated, carrying the spirit of yoga into their daily lives. The programme was also broadcasted live on Social Media Channels.

The Chief Guest of the occasion was Ms. Sarabjit Kaur, Former Mayor, MC, Chandigarh and Guest of Honour were Col. Gursewak Singh and Sh. Jagtar Singh Jagga, former Deputy Mayor, MC, Chandigarh. Col. Gursewak Singh emphasized the importance of Yoga in the present scenario for keeping oneself fit mentally as well as physically. The distinguished presence of; Sh. Balkar Sidhu, SNA Awardee, Ms. Sarita Khura, ZEE TV, Sh. Swarn Singh Channi, Sh. Davinder Singh Jugni, Sh. Bhola Kalheri, Sh. Manpreet Singh etc. added prestige to the event.

The event concluded with a pledge taken by all the participants with the objective to inculcate the discipline of Yoga into their daily lifestyle.
