Chandigarh , May 21 Today, Vice President of Bharatiya Janata Party SC Morcha Paramjit Singh Kainth met Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes Mr. Kishor Makwana at his office in Delhi regarding the serious issues of Scheduled Castes.
BJP leader Sardar Kainth said that Mr. Makwana said that the Punjab government of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann led by Aam Aadmi Party is not serious about the issues related to the Scheduled Caste community but is doing politics in implementing the schemes being run by the Central Government. Under the MNREGA Employment Guarantee Scheme, along with providing employment in rural areas, there is discrimination in distribution and they are also being exploited. This is a very serious matter. Roster points are being ignored during the promotion of Scheduled Caste employees. Dalit leader Sardar Kainth told the Chairman that Bhagwant Mann's government has been trying to suppress the scam under the Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for the last three years. Taking serious notice of the matter, Chairman Kishor Makwana assured that the Commission will seek a reply from the Punjab Government to submit an inquiry report regarding the scam. The Commission will take appropriate steps to prevent discrimination in the distribution of funds in villages and cities of Punjab under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The Commission Chairman was informed about the fake liquor mafia operating in various parts of Punjab under political patronage for the last three years, which is causing the death of hundreds of poor people every year, but the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has failed to stop it. Such incidents have created an atmosphere of fear and panic among the poor families of Scheduled Castes. Taking strong cognizance of the recent death of more than 27 people due to poisonous liquor in the border areas of Amritsar district, accepting the demand of Bharatiya Janata Party Scheduled Caste Morcha to visit Punjab and provide justice to the victims, BJP leader Sardar Kainth said that during the meeting, Chairman of National Scheduled Caste Commission has assured to visit Punjab soon.
