राज्यपाल बंडारू दत्तात्रेय ने शुक्रवार की सुबह शहर स्थित श्रवण एवं वाणी नि:शक्तजन कल्याण केन्द्र को दौरा करते हुए वहां पर मूक बधिर बच्चों को मिलने वाली सभी जरूरी सुविधाओं का जायजा लिया। इस दौरान उन्होंने केन्द्र में हॉस्टल, रसोई, डाइनिंग हाल तथा कक्षाओं को निरीक्षण कर केंद्र के अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिए कि यहां पर प्रत्येक बच्चों को वो सभी सुविधाएं मुहैया करवाएं जिसके वे हकदार है। उन्होंने कहा कि भगवान ने उन्हें इस रूप में जन्म दिया इसमें इन बच्चों का कोई कसूर नहीं है इसलिए इन बच्चों को कोई भी व्यक्ति अलग न समझे बल्कि उनको भी अन्य बच्चों की भांति अच्छी शिक्षा व अन्य कौशल कार्यों में आगे बढ़ाएं ताकि वे भी अपने जीवन में सफल हो सके।

उन्होंने कहा कि आज के समय हम सबको मिलकर इन मूक बधिर बच्चों को आत्मनिर्भर बनाने के लिए मिलकर प्रयास करने होंगे। उनमें अच्छे कौशल का विकास करना होगा ताकि वे भी औद्योगिक क्षेत्रों व सरकारी नौकरियों में आगे बढ़ सके। इस दौरान राज्यपाल ने बच्चों से सवाल पूछे और बच्चों के सवालों का भी जवाब दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि आप सभी अपने आप को कमजोर और अकेले न समझें क्योंकि आपके पीछे आपका साथ देने वाले 140 करोड़ लोग है। इसलिए आप अपने जीवन में मन लगाकर मेहनत करें। उन्होंने कहा कि यहां पर पढ़ने वाले बच्चों को खेलों और अन्य प्रतियोगिताओं के लिए जरूर प्रेरित करें ताकि वे शिक्षा के अलावा अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी आगे बढ़ सके।

इस दौरान राज्यपाल ने पंचकूला में आयोजित खेल प्रतियोगिता व जिला स्तर पर बाल भवन में आयोजित विभिन्न प्रतियोगिताओं के विजेता मूक बधिर बच्चों को सम्मानित करते हुए उन्हें शुभकामनाएं दी। इस मौके पर हरियाणा श्रवण एवं वाणी निशक्त जन कल्याण समिति की चेयरपर्सन मेघा भंडारी, उपायुक्त डॉ० मनोज कुमार, डीसीपी प्रबीना पी, एसडीएम अमित कुमार, नगराधीश रेणुका नांदल, सहायक निदेशक गुरूग्राम केन्द्र सीमा, सोनीपत केंद्र के सहायक निदेशक सेवेन्द्र सिंह सहित केंद्र के शिक्षक गण मौजूद रहे।

Polling Day Declared a Paid Holiday for Haryana Voters Across Government and Private Sectors

Neighbouring States Announce Paid Holiday for Haryana Voters on Polling Day

Chandigarh, September 27 – Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, informed that October 5, 2024 (Saturday), the polling day for the General Election to the Haryana Legislative Assembly, will be observed as a paid holiday. This applies to all eligible voters employed in government offices, corporations, educational institutions, industrial establishments, shops, factories, and commercial businesses within Haryana.

In this regard, a notification has been issued by the Chief Secretary, Haryana on September 18, 2024. According to the notification, under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881, and Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, all employees working in government offices, corporations, educational institutions of the state, who are registered voters of Haryana, will be granted a paid holiday on October 5, 2024.

Additionally, the Chief Secretary has notified that employees working in various factories, shops, and private establishments located in Haryana, who are registered voters of Haryana, will also be granted a paid holiday on October 5, 2024, under Section 135-B of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. In this regard, the Labour Department has also issued a notification under Section 28 of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, 1958, and Section 65 of the Factories Act, 1948. Strict action will be taken as per the rules for violations of these provisions.

Sh. Agarwal stated that there will be no deduction in wages for employees granted this holiday. Government employees, including those in educational institutions, will be entitled to special casual leave. Adult workers in factories are exempt from work on the polling day under Section-65 of the Factories Act, 1948. It was informed that employees working in Delhi who are registered voters of Haryana will also be granted a paid holiday. A letter in this regard was issued by the Office Of Commissioner (Labour), Government of NCT of Delhi.

Similarly, neighbouring states, including Punjab, UT Chandigarh, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, through their competent authority, have also released notifications granting a paid holiday on October 5, 2024, for registered voters of Haryana working in their respective state to ensure they can exercise their right to vote. The Chief Electoral Officer encourages all eligible voters to participate in this democratic process and cast their vote on October 5, 2024.

Sh. Khetmalis Makarand Pandurang has been given additional charge of Director General and Secretary Information, Public Relations, Languages & Culture Department and Director General, Art and Cultural Affairs, Haryana.

Sh. Parvesh Kadiyan, HCS, has been given additional charge of City Magistrate, Jhajjar.

ECI holds review meeting on turnout implementation plan for Haryana Legislative Assembly Elections

Chandigarh, September 27 – A 3 member committee from Election Commission of India visited Haryana for a review meeting on turnout implementation plan for Haryana Legislative Assembly Elections 2024 here today. Committee members included Secretary, ECI, Sh. Santosh Kumar, Under Secretary, ECI, Sh. Love Kush Yadav, Senior Consultant, ECI, Aradhana Sharma. Meeting was attended by District SVEEP nodal officers from across the state.

The Secretary, ECI, Sh. Santosh Kumar stressed on ensuring high voter turnout in the upcoming Haryana Legislative Assembly Elections. He called the District SVEEP Nodal officers for ramping up SVEEP activities in public places and at schools of the district to educate public about the significance and essence of casting their franchise. He called upon officers to adopt a multipronged strategy, organizing various mobilization events to engage the target audience effectively. He also stressed upon the importance of leveraging technology and media like print, digital, electronic, folk, and inter-personal platform to ensure that no voter is left behind.

He emphasized on enhancing awareness among the masses with respect to special polling stations viz. Pink, PwD, and Green, and directed the concerned to give wide publicity regarding facilities being provided at these polling stations. He also stressed upon conduct of Election Commission of India’s path-breaking home voting facility for citizens who are 85+ and Person with Disabilities (PwD) to send clear message to citizens about the decisive step taken towards facilitating a more equitable and representative democracy, where every citizen’s voice matters, regardless of physical limitations or age.

During the meeting, the ECI team conducted a district-wise detailed review of the possible reasons for low voter turnout during the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. They also inquired about the strategies adopted by the nodal officers to address the gaps. The nodal officers for the SVEEP activities outlined various efforts undertaken to increase voter turnout, including nukkad nataks (street plays), IEC activities, meetings in gram sachivalayas and chaupals, SVEEP banners displayed in hospitals, awareness rallies through rickshaws and taxis, awareness rallies for the first time voters, involvement of sports icons, radio messages, leveraging the power of social media platforms for extensive voter outreach and district-wise SVEEP plans with a special focus on low voter turnout areas. Additional activities such as special competitions and engagement of Self Help Groups were also highlighted to promote voter participation.

The team urged the nodal officers to publicise the facilities available at polling stations, such as shelters, seating areas, water, and other basic amenities to the masses. They also recommended incorporating QR codes on all SVEEP banners, posters, and publicity materials to broaden the dissemination of information more effectively. The team appreciated the idea of making theme based polling station by Fatehabad District and called upon the other districts to follow the same pattern. The Election Commission of India is committed to foster a vibrant democracy by actively engaging citizens and removing barriers to voter participation.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Prashant Panwar, expressed his gratitude towards the officers of the Election Commission of India, for appreciating the efforts of the SVEEP teams across the state's districts. He further added that as we approach the final phase of assembly elections, particularly regarding SVEEP activities, district officers have been directed to engage with every voter in their jurisdiction to maximize voter turnout.

PRT written examination to be held on September 28 across 160 exam Centres in Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra, and Panchkula

Chandigarh, September 27 – The Primary Teacher (PRT) written examination will be held on September 28 across 160 exam Centres in Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra, and Panchkula.

Sharing more details in this regard, Haryana Staff Selection Commission member, Sh. Bhupinder Singh Chauhan said that the commission will conduct the PRT exam and around 45,000 candidates are expected to appear for the exam.

Sh. Bhupinder Singh Chauhan further shared that centres for the PRT exam have been set up in Ambala, Karnal, Kurukshetra, and Panchkula.

He said that candidates will appear for the exam in the evening shift across 160 exam centres. A special exam centre has been established in Karnal for the convenience of PWD candidates.

Sh. Chauhan further shared that strict security arrangements have been made around the exam centres. Candidates will be screened upon entry, and their entry will be allowed only through biometric verification. The entire exam process will be monitored through videography and CCTV cameras.
