Haryana CM directs completion of Flood Prevention preparations by June 30

Chandigarh, June 11 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh has instructed officials to complete flood prevention preparations by June 30, before the onset of monsoon season. Last year, Ambala and Kurukshetra districts suffered significant flood damage. He also emphasized to ensure the completion of works of short-term schemes.

The Chief Minister was presiding over a meeting of Irrigation and Water Resources Department on flood regarding preparations for flood prevention here today. Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Dr. Abhe Singh Yadav was also present in the meeting.

The Chief Minister said that the work of soil filling should be started immediately to strengthen the embankments of canals and drains. With paddy plantation scheduled to begin after June 15, waterlogged fields pose challenges for soil lifting. In addition, landowners fields also does not remain vacant.

The Chief Minister issued a stern warning to officials, indicating that those responsible for any repeat of last year's flood incidents will face consequences. The department should hire as many JCBs as necessary to remove the silt from the canal.He said that the villages of Harda-Hardi, Shergarh, Chandpura, Shahpur, Hemamajra, Rampur Sassedi of Ambala, Jhaansa, Jalbehra of Kurukshetra and Guhla Cheeka of Kaithal were badly affected. This time, if floods happen due to negligence in the preparations being done before the monsoon, then strict action will be taken against those responsible.

During the meeting, it was informed that 320 flood-prone hotspots had been identified, and short-term schemes had been devised accordingly. To date, 44 schemes have been successfully completed, with work ongoing on 179 schemes.

Expressing urgency, the Chief Minister said that due to time constraints, the remaining work must be expedited by the department with utmost urgency. He directed officials to establish a portal for uploading daily reports on all flood-related tasks being undertaken before the monsoon. A video should be made by taking the village sarpanch along and uploaded on this portal which he would personally oversee.

The Chief Minister said that tomorrow, Irrigation and Water Resources Minister Dr. Abhe Singh Yadav, Commissioner and Secretary of the Department Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, and Advisor to the Chief Minister Sh Bharat Bhushan Bharti will visit flood-prone areas in Ambala, Kurukshetra, and Kaithal districts to assess the situation and compile a report. He gave clear instructions that flood prevention measures should be visibly implemented on the ground and he himself would personally review the preparations on June 13.

Chandigarh, June 11 - Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh, while taking a significant decision in the interest of workers of the Haryana Building and Other Construction Welfare Board, has directed the officers of the Labour Department to immediately release pending funds for toolkits, bicycle schemes, and sewing machines. Besides this, he has also directed the officers to create a new scheme to provide health benefits to construction welfare board workers similar to those of ESI.

The Chief Minister gave these directions while chairing a meeting with officers of the Labour Department held here today. Industries and Commerce and Labour Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma also attended the meeting.

Sh. Nayab Singh also directed that pending death claims of workers should be immediately processed to provide financial aid to poor families. He said that the grant given for the marriage of workers' daughters under the board should be provided three days before the marriage to offer financial benefit.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister directed the planning of advance lump-sum payments of scholarships for workers' children and the simplification of the entire application process to avoid any difficulties for workers during application.

Financial Assistance of Rs 5 Lakh for Worker’s Family in Case of Death at working site or outside

Sh. Nayab Singh directed that in case of a worker's death, the family faces severe distress, therefore the rules of the Mukhyamantri Shramik Suraksha Yojana should be amended to provide Rs 5 lakh financial assistance to the family in case of death at a working site or outside. Currently, the scheme provides Rs 5 lakh for death at the worksite and Rs 2 lakh for death at outside.

The Chief Minister also directed that workers of the Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board or their family members seeking traditional skill training be provided courses at Shri Vishwakarma Skill University, with all expenses covered by the board.

Foundation Stone of 100-Bed ESI Hospital in Rohtak to be laid soon

In the meeting, it was informed that all processes, including land identification for the 100-bed ESI hospital in Rohtak, have been completed, and the foundation stone will be laid soon. Additionally, the dispensary established in Panchkula will be inaugurated soon, and ECG facilities will be introduced in 86 ESI dispensaries shortly. Moreover, health checkups under the Nirogi Haryana Scheme will also be conducted for workers whose income exceeds Rs 1.80 lakh or who do not have a PPP card.

Release Pending Post-Matric Scholarship Amount for Scheduled Caste Students Promptly

From this Year, Scholarship Amount to be Disbursed with Admissions

Chandigarh, June 11 – Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh has directed officers to convene a joint meeting of the officers from the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and Antyodaya Department (SEWA), and the Higher Education Department at the earliest in order to release the pending amount of the post-matric scholarship for Scheduled Caste students from the previous year. Additionally, from this year onward, the scholarship amount should be disbursed at the time of admission to prevent students from facing financial difficulties in continuing their education.

The Chief Minister was holding a review meeting today with the officials of the Department of Social Justice, Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes and Antyodaya Department (SEWA). The Minister of State for Social Justice, Empowerment, SCs & BCs Welfare and Antyodaya, Shri Bishamber Singh, was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, it was informed that under the Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, Scheduled Caste students with an annual family income of less than Rs. 2.5 lakhs are eligible to apply. This scheme is implemented in a 60:40 ratio between the central and state governments. In the year 2023-24, 82,248 students were awarded a total of Rs. 151.46 crores in scholarships. Similarly, under the Backward Class Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme, 55,998 students received a total of Rs. 36.32 crores in scholarships.

Increase in Amount for Haryana State Shubhra Jyotsna Pension Scheme

The Chief Minister directed the officers to increase the amount of the Haryana State Shubhra Jyotsna Pension Scheme, which currently provides a monthly pension of Rs. 15,000. It was informed that the number of beneficiaries is approximately 900. He also stated that under the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana, Rs. 61,000 out of the Rs. 71,000 provided should be disbursed at the time of registration so that the beneficiaries can use this amount for their daughters' weddings.

Expedited Establishment of Samarth Vriddh SEWA Ashram Scheme for Elderly Care

Sh. Nayab Singh stated that the Haryana government has taken the responsibility of caring for elderly individuals over the age of 80 who live alone for various reasons. To this end, Samarth Vriddh SEWA Ashram Scheme are being established across the state. In the first phase, these ashrams will be opened in Gurugram, Hisar, Jhajjar, Sirsa, Sonipat, and Yamunanagar. These ashrams will be operated by NGOs and social institutions.

Accelerate Verification of Applications under Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna

The Chief Minister emphasized that under the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Awas Navinikarn Yojna, the state government provides financial assistance of Rs. 80,000 for the repair of houses for poor families. He directed the officials to complete the verification process of the applications received under this scheme as soon as possible and to release the financial assistance promptly.

Chandigarh, June 11 - Haryana Industries and Commerce and Labor Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that mandatory safety standards for boilers and other equipment in established industrial units in the state should be strictly ensured so as to prevent loss of life and property. For this, officers of the Industries and Labor Department will monitor compliance with safety standards through mutual coordination.

The Industries Minister issued these directions while chairing a key meeting with officers of the Industries and Commerce Department and Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (HSIIDC) held here today.

Sh. Mool Chand Sharma directed that immediate monitoring of safety standards be done in industrial areas in Sonipat, Jhajjar, Rewari, Yamunanagar, Gurugram, and Faridabad. Besides this, officers should ensure that workers in industrial units are provided with a conducive work environment.

Emphasis on providing public amenities in industrial estates, directs Minister

The Industries Minister directed officers of HSIIDC to ensure the maintenance of infrastructure works such as roads, water, electricity supply, sewage systems, etc., in industrial areas and expedite new projects to ensure no inconvenience to businesses. He said that industrialists are being encouraged under various state government incentive policies for setting up new industries. He further directed that any permissions required for setting up industries should be provided within the stipulated time frame.

Ensure maintenance of KMP junctions' ups and downs, directs Minister

Sh. Mool Chand Sharma directed officers of HSIIDC to ensure the provision of lighting facilities and maintenance of ups and downs junctions on the KMP Expressway. He said that KMP is the lifeline of this region, and it is our responsibility to provide facilities to the public, so officers should ensure all facilities on the KMP Expressway.

During the meeting, it was informed that various incentives are being provided to industries under the Haryana State Data Center Policy, Startup Policy, Electronic System Design Policy, and Medical Devices Manufacturing Policy. This has led to the establishment of new industries in the state, creating employment opportunities. During the last five years, approximately 22 mega projects have been established.

Chandigarh June 11: The Haryana Government has approved over Rs 1.20 crore for the repair of SC and BC Chaupals in various villages of the Bawal Assembly Constituency in district Rewari. Public Health Engineering and Public Works (Building and Roads) Departments Minister, Dr. Banwari Lal, announced that directions have been issued to complete the repair work of these Chaupals in a time-bound manner. He emphasized that these Chaupals are vital community spaces, used by villagers for organizing meetings, hosting marriage functions, and other social programs.

Chandigarh, June 11 - Haryana Education Minister, Mrs. Seema Trikha directed officials to install solar systems in all government and private colleges across the state. This initiative aims to reduce electricity expenses and contribute to environmental conservation. In addition, she instructed the publication of a monthly magazine of the Higher Education Department, highlighting special achievements of colleges, universities, and their students.

The Education Minister was presiding over the meeting of the Higher Education Department at Shiksha Sadan in Panchkula today.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Department Sh Vineet Garg, Director General Sh Rajiv Rattan and other officials were also present.

During the meeting, Education Minister also discussed in detail with the officials of the Higher Education Department about the problems and suggestions being faced by them.

She suggested that, akin to Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi's "Mann Ki Baat" program, where he discusses 2-3 topics and commends achievements in those domains, a similar approach could be adopted in each publication by the Higher Education Department. Proposing that colleges and universities be assessed based on their accomplishments, she suggested for showcasing exemplary instances in the magazine, fostering improvement and instigating healthy competition.

Expressing concern over escalating global warming, Mrs. Trikha urged officials to encourage college and university students to participate in tree plantation drives and water conservation efforts. She said that the youth should formulate a plan for planting sapling in the vicinity of their institution, snap a photo with the planted tree, and share it on social media. She expressed happiness that the NSS unit is promoting tree plantation.

The Education Minister said that certain plant species have higher water absorption rates, while some plants can grow in less water. In such a situation, the youth should get saplings planted in their respective areas only after consulting the forest department officials.
