Chandigarh (21.04.2023)-NSS Open Unit, U.T. Chandigarh concluded fortnight long ongoing Anti-Drug Awareness Campaign under the moto "Health For All and Say No To Drugs" in collaboration with GMHS RC-II, Dhanas and Social Substance. Occasion was graced by the State Liaison Officer (NSS) Prof. Nemi Chand, Adv. Dinesh Singh Chauhan, Smt. Anaya Poonam with School Principal Smt. Ravinder Kaur join the function. More than 60 NSS volunteers participated in the valedictory event of the camp.

In this fortnight long campaign, multiple door to door awareness campaign, Nukkak natak, Mass rallies,Wall painting on the theme, Poster making and Essay writing contest were conducted. NSS Volunteers in the door to door campaign raised community awareness on health issues caused by drugs. In the nukkad natak, Anti-Drug Awareness highlighted the bad effects of its illicit consumption. About 90 students from the Govt. Model High School, DAV Public school, sector 15 and NSS Open Unit, UT Chandigarh participated in the Essay writing and poster making contest. On the concluding day of the campaign, State Liaison Officer, Chandigarh Administration Prof. Nemi Chand felicitated the best five volunteers in poster making and essay writing competition and also flagged off the Anti-Drug rally. Prof. Nemi congratulated Programme Officer Er. Binesh Bhatia and Unit Coordinator Ms. Ritika Verma for effective and smooth conduct of this meaningful community awareness campaign launched in April, 2023. Talking to the media person, while reviewing this fifteen day activity in Dhanas; NSS Programme Officer Er. Binesh Bhatia said NSS Open Unit will come up with more awareness activities in the future on different social issues. School principal Smt. Ravinder Kaur thanked the NSS Open Unit members for adopting the RC-II school for such meaningful awareness activity which create greater impact on the society.
