CHANDIGARH,07.03.23-State Bank of India celebrated International Women’s Day at Local Head Office with the theme“Empowering Women , Transforming Lives” and invited two inspiring women leaders Dr. Jayanti Datta from Panjab University & Ms. Eram Rizvi from Chandigarh Police as Chief Guests for the Programme.

Dr Jayanti Dutta is Faculty in Human Resource Development Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh. She has executed more than 150 faculty development Programmes and has been instrumental in training more than 5000 teachers. Ms. Eram Rizvi, Chandigarh Police, Sector 39 Chandigarh is Triple Masters degree holder and stood all rounder first in all Police trainings and has been awarded several Police medals for meritorious services. Ms. Razvi has also worked in United Nations as Police Adviser and Team Leader for one year.

Sh. Vinod Jaiswal Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Chandigarh announced the launch of SBI Women Staff Mentorship initiative in the Circle for gender parity and awarded Achievers Felicitation Mementos to outstanding performers from the women staff. Mr Jaiswal said that the SBI Mentorship programme will provide a safe and supportive environment for women to share their challenges and experiences and learn from each other, and receive guidance and advice from experienced mentors. The mentors will work closely with the Staff to develop their skills, knowledge, and confidence, helping them to reach their full potential and advance in their careers. Our bank has been led by a woman Chairperson, while one of our woman Managing Director has been selected as MD of the World Bank, which bears testimony to the fact that State Bank of India provides right environment for the women colleagues. He said On this International Women's Day, let us renew our commitment to gender equality and celebrate the invaluable contributions of women to our organization and society.

On the occasion, cultural programme were performed by the women staff members. Members of SBI Ladies Club of the Bank were also present to celebrate the International Women Day.
