CHANDIGARH,24.01.23-Thalassaemic Charitable Trust PGI-GMCH Chandigarh organised 271^st Blood Donation Camp on 21^st January 2023 (Saturday) in PGIMER, Chandigarh. Blood Bank, PGIMER is facing acute shortage of blood as fewer voluntary blood donors are coming forward due extreme cold weather. Hon’ble 117 voluntary blood donors donated blood in this camp, while 19 donors were rejected during medical examination before donation.

Thalassaemic Charitable Trust expressed deep gratitude to all voluntary blood donors for visiting this camp to donate blood for thalassaemics and other serious patients requiring blood support. The camp was conducted under COVID19 guidelines.

Shri Rajinder Kalra Member Secretary of the Trust thanked Head of Department and staff of Transfusion Medicine Department, PGIMER for their cooperation in conducting this Camp. The Management Committee of the Trust appeals for regular blood donation by healthy individuals and generous donations for treatment of poor Thalassaemics.
