Governor Prof Ashim Kumar Ghosh said that Tagore was a profound voice of India’s spiritual and humanistic heritage and made an unparalleled contribution to literature, music, education, philosophy and social thought.

“Rabindranath Tagore was not merely a literary genius but a towering cultural and intellectual force who gave a universal expression to the profound humanistic traditions of India. His extraordinary contribution enriched literature, music, education, philosophy and social thought, leaving an indelible imprint on the cultural consciousness of India and the world,” the Governor said.

Prof Ghosh said Tagore’s works continue to inspire generations because of their timeless relevance and universal appeal.

His vision of humanity, harmony and universal brotherhood remains deeply relevant even today. Chandigarh, August 7- Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that environmental conservation is not merely a government programme but a moral responsibility of every citizen. Calling upon every family in the state to contribute towards protecting nature, he urged people to plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its care and survival.

The Chief Minister was addressing the inaugural session of the second phase of the 77th State-Level Van Mahotsav organised at Manesar in Gurugram on Friday. The event was presided over by Haryana Environment, Forest and Wildlife Minister, Sh. Rao Narbir Singh, while Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sh. Bhupender Yadav attended the programme as the Guest of Honour.

During the programme, the Chief Minister visited an exhibition set up at the venue and participated in a plantation drive. He also administered a pledge to the gathering to plant a tree under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign and motivate others to do the same. On the occasion, he released the Forest Department's publication 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' and the latest edition of 'Haryana Forest News'. He also felicitated winners from Gurugram district who excelled in essay writing, painting and various other competitions organised on the theme 'Harit Haryana', encouraging their contribution towards environmental awareness.

Referring to the Aravali mountain range, the Chief Minister said that if the Aravalis could speak, they would ask what future generations intend to leave behind in return for the clean air, water conservation and rich biodiversity they have provided for thousands of years. He said Van Mahotsav offers an opportunity to answer that question. It is not merely a plantation drive, but a campaign to repay our debt to nature and make environmental conservation a people's movement rooted in social values, he said.

*Van Mahotsav to be organised in all 90 Assembly constituencies*

The Chief Minister said the first phase of this year's Van Mahotsav was launched in Karnal on July 30, while the second phase commenced from Manesar. He said that Van Mahotsav programmes will now be organised in all 90 Assembly constituencies of Haryana, enabling every citizen to become a partner in the state's mass movement for environmental conservation.

*75 Namo Parks developed across Haryana; Oxy Vans coming up in every district*

Highlighting the state's green initiatives, the Chief Minister said that 75 Namo Parks have already been developed across Haryana. In addition, Oxy Vans are being established at every district headquarters over an area ranging from 5 to 100 acres, equipped with walking tracks, cycling tracks and other modern public amenities. The Oxy Van at Karnal has already been completed, while construction is underway in Panchkula. Besides this, Nagar Vans have been developed at Murthal in Sonipat and Sadhaura in Yamunanagar. A statewide plantation campaign under the name 'Panchvati' is also being implemented in every village, while the development of Panchvati Vatikas has begun at 134 pilgrimage sites across the 48-Kos Kurukshetra region.

*Nature has always occupied a sacred place in Indian culture*

The Chief Minister said that trees are among nature's greatest miracles, with their roots firmly anchored in the past, their trunks standing in the present and their branches extending into the future. Planting a sapling, he said, is not merely sowing a seed in the soil but investing in the breath, shade and security of future generations.

He said Indian civilisation has always revered nature. Referring to religious scriptures, he noted that Lord Krishna, in the Bhagavad Gita, identified Himself with the Peepal tree, while the sages described the Earth as a mother and mankind as her children. The Matsya Purana, he added, equates the value of a single tree with that of ten sons. Protecting nature is, therefore, one of the foundational values of Indian culture, he said.

*Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' is an emotional and cultural movement*

The Chief Minister said that the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign launched by Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi is much more than a plantation drive; it is an emotional and cultural movement. A mother gives us life, while trees protect and sustain that life, he remarked.

He informed that Haryana has set a target of planting 1.40 crore saplings during the financial year 2026-27. The government's objective, he said, is not merely to increase plantation numbers but to ensure that every sapling survives and grows into a tree. Every tree planted today, he added, represents hope, clean air and a secure environment for future generations.

*Treat every sapling like a member of the family*

Appealing to the people of the state, the Chief Minister urged citizens to plant a tree in the name of their mother and nurture it as they would a member of their own family. He said the government will ensure active participation of government departments, educational institutions, universities, panchayats, urban local bodies, religious and social organisations, industrial establishments and voluntary organisations to make the campaign a true people's movement.

*Development is meaningful only when nature thrives alongside it*

Calling upon farmers to plant indigenous and climate-suitable tree species along field boundaries and other available land, the Chief Minister said that while Gurugram and Manesar symbolise industrial growth, they must continue to be equally recognised for their greenery and clean environment.

He stressed that development becomes meaningful only when nature flourishes alongside it. Concrete structures may drive economic growth, but only trees can provide the depth of life, clean air and a healthy environment, he said.

*Biodiversity conservation is directly linked to human health*

The Chief Minister said the Haryana Government is consistently working towards the conservation and promotion of medicinal plants. He informed that 58 Herbal Parks have already been established across the state for the preservation of medicinal plant species.

He said Ayurveda had taught centuries ago that nature is not only the source of food but also the provider of remedies for numerous ailments. Conserving biodiversity, he added, is intrinsically linked to safeguarding human health.

*610 Van Mitras are strengthening Haryana's green cover*

Highlighting community participation in afforestation efforts, the Chief Minister said that 610 Van Mitras are actively contributing towards the protection of saplings and the expansion of green cover across the state. Describing them as the true guardians of Harit Haryana, he urged them to continue discharging their responsibilities with commitment and dedication.

He further said that the recognition of Sultanpur National Park and Bhindawas Wildlife Sanctuary as Ramsar Sites reflects Haryana's rich biodiversity and underlines the collective responsibility of preserving these ecologically significant ecosystems.

*Government providing financial support for conservation of 5,360 heritage trees*

The Chief Minister said the state government has further strengthened the Pran Vayu Devta Scheme to protect old and ecologically significant trees. Under the scheme, 5,360 heritage trees across Haryana are being provided annual financial assistance of Rs. 3,000 per tree for their conservation.

Drawing a parallel with the respect accorded to elders in a family, he said that ancient trees, which have provided oxygen, shade and life for generations, deserve equal honour, care and protection.

*Planting a sapling for a photograph is not enough*

The Chief Minister stressed that merely planting a sapling for ceremonial purposes or a photograph cannot be considered success. Saplings require regular watering, protection, soil care and continuous monitoring to survive and grow.

The real measure of success will be how many of the saplings planted today are still thriving as trees three years from now, he said.

He directed the Forest Department, Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies to focus not only on plantation targets but also on ensuring the survival and healthy growth of every sapling. Selecting the right species for the right location, followed by proper maintenance and protection, would be the key to the campaign's success, he said.

Expressing confidence that if every citizen of Haryana takes responsibility for nurturing even one sapling into a full-grown tree, the dream of a Green Haryana will soon become a reality, the Chief Minister extended his greetings on the occasion of Van Mahotsav and called upon the people to reaffirm their commitment to environmental conservation.

He said planting a sapling is a one-day activity, but protecting and nurturing it until it grows into a tree is the real responsibility. With this objective, the state government has placed equal emphasis this year on plantation as well as the long-term care and protection of every sapling.

The Minister said that if every individual adopts the sapling they plant as a member of their own family and nurtures it with care, Haryana will emerge in the coming years as a greener, cleaner and pollution-free state. The Forest Minister appealed to people to increasingly replace traditional printed invitation cards for social functions with digital invitations sent through mobile phones and other electronic platforms.

He said paper production requires the felling of trees and that adopting digital invitations would not only save paper but also help conserve forests. In addition, it would reduce fuel consumption, travel time for card distribution, traffic congestion and both air and noise pollution.

In today's digital era, a message sent through a mobile phone can be just as meaningful as a personal invitation. Small behavioural changes, when adopted collectively, can produce significant positive outcomes and lay a strong foundation for a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future, he said.

Chandigarh, August 7- Union Minister for Jal Shakti, Sh. C.R. Patil on late Thursday evening chaired a meeting with all Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Members of Parliament from Haryana to review the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi. The meeting focused on strengthening the execution of the Mission to ensure sustainable and equitable access to safe drinking water across the State.

Addressing the meeting, Sh. C.R. Patil said that the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0 in Haryana should be further strengthened so that every household receives clean and safe drinking water. He emphasised that providing quality drinking water to citizens remains the Government's foremost priority and assured that all proposals submitted by Haryana under the Mission would be examined positively.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs, Sh. Manohar Lal, Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Sh. V. Somanna, and Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister Shri Ranbir Gangwa, among others.

Sh. C.R Patil said that the Ministry has initiated consultations with Members of Parliament across the country to make the Mission more effective at the grassroots level. As part of this exercise, he interacted with Haryana MPs individually to understand the drinking water-related issues in their respective constituencies. He assured them that all genuine concerns would be examined in detail and addressed appropriately.

Highlighting the scale of the initiative, the Union Minister said that Jal Jeevan Mission has provided tap water connections to nearly 16 crore households across the country, significantly improving access to safe drinking water for millions of families.

MPs should closely monitor quality of works

The Union Minister said that substantial financial assistance has been provided to States for various drinking water projects and stressed that the quality of execution must not be compromised. He urged Members of Parliament to closely monitor works being undertaken in their constituencies and report any deficiencies directly to the Ministry. Strict action, he said, would be taken against officials or contractors found responsible for substandard execution, adding that such action has already been initiated in certain cases.

Focus on rainwater harvesting

Sh. C.R Patil also underscored the need for large-scale rainwater harvesting, noting that a significant quantity of rainwater is lost every year. He said systematic conservation of rainwater would help augment groundwater resources and ensure long-term water security. He suggested that recharge borewells be developed to facilitate groundwater recharge and recommended constructing such structures in waterlogging-prone areas where rainwater naturally accumulates.

Create large water bodies in dark zones- Manohar Lal

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal proposed the development of around 100 large water bodies in Haryana's dark zones to promote rainwater harvesting and groundwater recharge. He said Panchayati land available in many villages could be utilised for this purpose.

He further observed that drinking water supply infrastructure requires continuous upgradation. Older infrastructure, he said, should be replaced in a planned and phased manner within defined timelines to ensure uninterrupted water supply to consumers.

Jal Jeevan Mission has been implemented effectively in Haryana- Ranbir Gangwa

Haryana Public Health Engineering Minister, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa said that Jal Jeevan Mission has been implemented successfully in the State, enabling tap water connectivity to households across Haryana. He said the initiative has significantly eased the burden on women by eliminating the need to fetch water from distant sources.

The Minister said that Haryana has developed a robust drinking water infrastructure and remains committed to providing every citizen with safe and clean drinking water. Water supply-related public grievances are being resolved promptly, while water testing laboratories have also been established across the State.

Sharing the progress achieved under the Mission, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa informed that 6,557 schemes, with a total estimated cost of Rs. 4,786 crore, have been approved under Jal Jeevan Mission. Of these, 6,186 schemes have already been completed, while work on the remaining projects is progressing.

He further shared that in some districts the groundwater table has risen, resulting in damage to old water storage tanks, and requested financial support for their reconstruction. He also sought assistance for extending piped drinking water supply to small dhanis comprising 10–20 families and urged the Centre to provide grants keeping in view Haryana's specific geographical and infrastructural requirements.

Chandigarh, August 7 – Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda on Friday said that serving the public is the foremost responsibility of every government officer and employee. He directed all officers to discharge their duties with honesty, transparency and sensitivity while ensuring respectful treatment of citizens visiting government offices. He said the administration's objective is to provide timely justice and relief instead of making people visit government offices repeatedly.

Chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Grievances and Redressal Committee at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat in Sonipat, the Minister reviewed 16 grievances of various departments. Of these, eight complaints were resolved on the spot, providing immediate relief to the complainants, while necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments for the remaining eight cases after seeking detailed information.

To ensure expeditious disposal of pending grievances, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda constituted five committees under the chairmanship of MLAs.

The Minister said the Haryana Government is committed to the principles of good governance, transparency and accountability. He said the Government's objective is to ensure simple, accessible and time-bound delivery of public services. He urged officers of all departments to accord the highest priority to grievance redressal and work with dedication to strengthen public confidence in the administration.

Haryana WCD Strengthens the Implementation of the POSH Act 2013 and SHe-Box Portal through State-level Capacity Building Programme

Domestic Workers can Register a Complaint against Employers through the Local Complaint Committees

Chandigarh August 7- Reinforcing its commitment to creating safe and dignified workplaces for women, the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Haryana organized a State-Level Training Programme on the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 (POSH Act) and the SHE-Box Portal at Panchkula. The programme brought together DHEW officials, Protection Officers, Local Committee Chairpersons and other field-level functionaries from across the State.

Addressing the gathering, Director, Women and Child Development Department, Haryana, Dr. Priyanka Soni emphasized that ensuring women's safety, dignity and equal opportunity at the workplace is a shared responsibility of all institutions and stakeholders. She stated that while the POSH Act provides a strong legal framework for prevention and redressal of workplace sexual harassment, its success ultimately depends upon effective implementation, awareness and sensitivity at the ground level.

The Director highlighted the crucial role played by district-level functionaries in strengthening complaint redressal systems, promoting awareness and ensuring timely support for women facing workplace harassment. She urged participants to actively contribute towards building safe, respectful and inclusive work environments across Haryana.

During the training programme, resource persons including Mr. Kamal from the National Commission for Women and Mr. Ankur, POSH Expert, conducted technical sessions on the key provisions of the POSH Act, the constitution and functioning of Internal and Local Committees, inquiry procedures, employer responsibilities, compliance requirements and practical challenges in implementation. Participants were also provided a demonstration of the SHE-Box Portal and its complaint management process.

The sessions focused on strengthening participants' understanding of the key provisions of the POSH Act, the functioning of Internal Committees and Local Committees, inquiry procedures, stakeholder responsibilities, emerging challenges and best practices. A demonstration of the SHE-Box Portal was also conducted to familiarize participants with the online complaint registration and monitoring process.

An important aspect highlighted during the training was the role of Local Committees in ensuring access to justice for women who may not have access to an Internal Committee. Participants were informed that women working in the unorganized sector, including domestic workers, can file complaints of sexual harassment before the Local Committee established at the district level under the POSH Act. This provision ensures that women working outside formal organizational structures are also able to seek redressal and support.

The training also included deliberations on the Dowry Prohibition Act, 1961 and the Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, highlighting the importance of a coordinated approach towards women's safety, protection and empowerment.

Concluding the programme, the Director urged participants to carry forward the learnings from the training and strengthen awareness, prevention and grievance redressal mechanisms in their respective districts and institutions. She reiterated the Department's commitment to creating safe, inclusive and gender-sensitive workplaces across Haryana.

Chandigarh, August 7 – Haryana Education Minister, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda on Friday said that serving the public is the foremost responsibility of every government officer and employee. He directed all officers to discharge their duties with honesty, transparency and sensitivity while ensuring respectful treatment of citizens visiting government offices. He said the administration's objective is to provide timely justice and relief instead of making people visit government offices repeatedly.

Chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Grievances and Redressal Committee at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat in Sonipat, the Minister reviewed 16 grievances of various departments. Of these, eight complaints were resolved on the spot, providing immediate relief to the complainants, while necessary directions were issued to the concerned departments for the remaining eight cases after seeking detailed information.

To ensure expeditious disposal of pending grievances, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda constituted five committees under the chairmanship of MLAs.

The Minister said the Haryana Government is committed to the principles of good governance, transparency and accountability. He said the Government's objective is to ensure simple, accessible and time-bound delivery of public services. He urged officers of all departments to accord the highest priority to grievance redressal and work with dedication to strengthen public confidence in the administration.

Cabinet Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi calls for making environmental conservation a people's movement

Chandigarh, August 7- Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare, and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, while addressing the second phase of the 77th District-Level Van Mahotsav at village Bharedi Kalan under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign at Narayangarh, Ambala district, said that Van Mahotsav is not merely an occasion for tree plantation but a reaffirmation of society's commitment towards nature, environmental conservation and future generations.

He urged citizens to transform environmental conservation into a people's movement, stating that Haryana can become a greener State only through active public participation.

The Minister said the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, is a unique tribute to both nature and motherhood and has received overwhelming public support in Haryana under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini.

Highlighting the challenges of climate change, rising temperatures, air pollution, water scarcity and biodiversity loss, he said tree plantation, forest conservation and sustainable management of natural resources are essential to securing the future.

Sh. Krishan Bedi said Haryana has set a target of planting 1.40 crore saplings during the current monsoon season with the active participation of government departments, panchayats, urban local bodies, educational institutions, industries, voluntary organisations and the public. Stressing that the objective is not only to plant saplings but also to ensure their survival, he said the State is developing dense Miyawaki forests over nearly 48 hectares in urban and semi-urban areas while promoting indigenous tree species and conserving natural and cultural heritage.

The Minister further said Haryana is the first State in the country to introduce the Pran Vayu Devta Pension Scheme for the conservation of trees aged over 75 years. He appealed to every citizen to plant a tree in honour of their mother and nurture it until it matures. He also urged students and youth to become ambassadors of environmental conservation and lead plantation and tree protection drives in their respective areas.

During the programme, the Minister also announced the construction of a shed in village Bharedi Kalan on the request of the Gram Panchayat. Earlier, he planted a sapling and participated in the Van Mahotsav programme, where the live telecast of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini's State-level Van Mahotsav event from Manesar was also screened.

Chandigarh, August 7: Haryana has launched extensive statewide preparations for one of its largest patriotic public outreach initiatives, with Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi directing all Administrative Secretaries, Deputy Commissioners, Heads of Departments and Vice Chancellors to ensure seamless coordination for the successful organisation of the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026, marking 150 years of Vande Mataram, and the observance of Partition Horror Remembrance Day. The statewide patriotic campaign and related programmes will be organised from August 9 to 17

Chairing a high-level review meeting here on Friday, the Chief Secretary reviewed district-wise preparedness and stressed that the programmes should become a people's movement that inspires patriotism, strengthens national unity and encourages citizens—particularly the youth—to connect with the nation's history and democratic values. He said the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 will begin with its State-level launch at Narnaul in Mahendragarh district on August 9, where Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will preside over the function. Deputy Commissioners and Vice Chancellors from all districts participated in the meeting through video conference, while Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments attended in person. Rastogi directed all district administrations to ensure maximum public participation through schools, colleges, universities, Resident Welfare Associations, youth clubs, civil society organisations, self-help groups and local communities. He said every department must work in close coordination to ensure that every programme is organised in a dignified, disciplined and citizen-centric manner.

Giving a detailed presentation, Director General, Information, Public Relations, Languages and Culture, K. Makrand Pandurang, informed that on August 9 the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign 2026 will begin with its State-level launch at Narnaul in Mahendragarh district, where Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will preside over the function. The highlight of the inaugural programme will be a 10-kilometre Tiranga Marathon, expected to attract nearly 35,000 participants. About 25,000 National Flags will be distributed among participants to encourage every household to proudly hoist the Tricolour during the campaign.

The Chief Secretary directed officials to ensure extensive documentation of the campaign through photographs and videos and asked all districts to actively promote the ‘Selfie with Tiranga’ initiative. He said citizens should be encouraged to upload their photographs on the Har Ghar Tiranga portal, creating a digital repository of public participation in the nationwide campaign.

Statewide Patriotic Programmes Planned

Pandurang informed that a wide range of patriotic activities have been planned across Haryana, including Vande Mataram-themed Tiranga Concerts, Tiranga and Vande Mataram exhibitions, bike, cycle and e-bike rallies, district-level Tiranga processions, illumination of government buildings in the colours of the National Flag, large patriotic rangoli displays, digital outreach campaigns, and exhibitions at district, block and panchayat levels.

Special Tiranga Selfie Points will also be established across the State to encourage greater public participation, while government buildings, hospitals, educational institutions, markets, bridges, roundabouts and other prominent public places will be illuminated in the colours of the National Flag during the campaign period.

He also urged Deputy Commissioners to organise exhibitions in shopping malls, railway stations, city parks and other high-footfall public places to reach larger sections of society and familiarise citizens, especially young people, with the history of the National Flag and the enduring significance of Vande Mataram.

Gurugram to Host State-Level Partition Horror Remembrance Day Programme

Reviewing preparations for Partition Horror Remembrance Day, to be observed on August 14, the Chief Secretary said the observance should serve not only as a tribute to the millions displaced and affected by the Partition of India but also as an educational initiative to preserve their stories for future generations.

Pandurang said commemorative programmes would be organised across all districts, while the State-level function will be held in Gurugram. The programme will feature exhibitions, documentary screenings, cultural performances, narration of stories by Partition-affected families and other activities aimed at preserving oral history and promoting awareness about one of the defining chapters in India’s history.

Educational Institutions to Lead Public Participation

Director General of Higher Education, S. Narayanan, informed the meeting that schools, colleges and universities will play a pivotal role in ensuring public participation. Students, NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, Bharat Scouts and Guides, youth organisations and community groups will actively participate in Tiranga rallies, exhibitions and awareness programmes across all districts.

Chandigarh, August 7: Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the teachings of saints and great personalities are not confined to any particular community, but pave the way for the welfare of the entire humanity. He said that the message of social harmony, equality and brotherhood given centuries ago by Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj remains equally relevant and inspirational even today.

The Chief Minister said that the Haryana Government has launched the ‘Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ on the occasion of the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. The campaign will be conducted across the State till February 20, 2027.

The Chief Minister was chairing the first review meeting of the State-Level Committee constituted for programmes to mark the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji in Panchkula on Friday. He said that under this campaign, programmes and activities would be organised in several phases to take the teachings and Bani of Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj to every household and every section of society.

The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, Haryana has been given the opportunity to celebrate the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji. Sant Guru Ravidas Ji not only took the initiative to eradicate the social evils prevalent in society at that time, but also worked towards giving society a new direction. The Haryana Government has launched the Sant-Mahapurush Samman Evam Vichar Prachar-Prasar Yojana to acquaint the younger generation with the teachings of great personalities. Under this scheme, the birth anniversaries of great personalities are celebrated at the government level.

He said that the ‘Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ was launched on July 29 from Seer Govardhanpur in Varanasi, the birthplace of Sant Guru Ravidas Ji, where urns containing sacred soil from the birthplace were worshipped and handed over to representatives of different States across the country. Thereafter, these urns are being taken to the State, district and village levels, where devotees are ceremonially mixing the sacred soil of the birthplace with the soil of local temples and spreading the message of social harmony among the people. The Kalash Yatra, which began from Varanasi, is travelling across the country. Sacred soil has been brought from the birthplace of Sri Guru Ravidas Ji in Varanasi and is being taken to every village, city and settlement in Haryana and to every household.

The Chief Minister said that he also had the privilege of participating in the Kalash Yatra organised in Gurugram, in the sacred city of Mata Sheetla Devi. On that occasion, he witnessed a remarkable confluence of faith, devotion and the rich cultural traditions of the country. Taking the same Yatra forward, he said he had the privilege of launching the ‘Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ from the sacred land of Mata Mansa Devi in Panchkula. A comprehensive public awareness campaign will be conducted to take Guru Ravidas Ji’s message of equality, social justice and humanity to every settlement, every family and, particularly, the younger generation.

He said that on July 29, 2026, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, the ‘Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’, dedicated to the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji, was launched. The campaign will continue till February 20, 2027. The objective of the campaign is to take the message of equality, service, devotion, social justice, humanity and social harmony of Guru Ravidas Ji to the last person in society and unite different sections of society in the bond of social unity.

The Chief Minister said that today, the followers of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji are not limited to Haryana, Punjab or Kashi. Millions of devotees across every corner of India as well as in the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Italy, Australia and several other countries draw inspiration from his Bani. His Bani has not recognised boundaries; rather, it has connected hearts. It has not only guided society but humanity as a whole. He said that Guru Ravidas Ji's Bani teaches us that if our intentions are pure, our feelings are sincere and our actions are dedicated to public welfare, even the simplest of places can become a place of pilgrimage.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister urged all members of the State-Level Committee constituted for programmes to mark the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji to discharge their responsibilities with complete sensitivity, a sense of service and within the stipulated timeframe, and ensure that the campaign reaches every section of society. He directed that separate committees be constituted for each programme to be organised in different phases to ensure their grand and successful conduct. He also said that the valuable suggestions given by the members would be incorporated into the programmes.

Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister Sh. Krishan Lal Panwar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji is being celebrated across the country in a grand and dignified manner. In the same spirit, under the leadership of Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, a State-Level Committee has been constituted for organising the Prakash Parv celebrations in the State with public participation. He informed that Sri Guru Ravidas Dham would be constructed on approximately five acres of land in the sacred land of Kurukshetra, and work on the project is expected to commence shortly.

Earlier, Haryana Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi, in his address, said that Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj was a great personality who gave society the invaluable message of unity, integrity, equality and social harmony. He said that committees have been constituted at the State, district and divisional levels for the successful implementation of the ‘Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ dedicated to the 650th Prakash Parv of Sant Shiromani Sri Guru Ravidas Ji. He said that respectful participation of all communities would be ensured in all programmes and religious events organised under the campaign so that the message of social harmony and brotherhood reaches people on a wider scale. On the occasion, he also gave detailed information about the programmes and major activities to be organised during different phases of the campaign.

During the meeting, ministers, Members of Parliament and MLAs who are members of the State-Level Committee also presented their valuable suggestions for the successful organisation of the ‘Guru Ravidas Maharaj Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’.
