Chandigarh, 2 April: The Victory Against Drug Abuse (VADA) Club of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a felicitation ceremony to honour its dedicated VADA volunteers for their contribution to the cause of Drug Abuse awareness during the session 2025-26. The event celebrated the unwavering commitment and impactful efforts of the young changemakers who have consistently raised awareness against drug abuse within the college and the wider community.
Throughout the academic session, the VADA volunteers organised a series of awareness campaigns, educational initiatives, and outreach programmes aimed at sensitising individuals about the harmful effects of drug addiction. Their dedication, teamwork, and consistent efforts have significantly contributed to promoting a culture of health, responsibility, and informed decision-making among their peers. The volunteers were felicitated with certificates and prizes in recognition of their commendable service.
The ceremony was graced by Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma, who commended the volunteers for their enthusiasm and sense of social responsibility. In her address, she underscored the vital role of youth in addressing pressing societal challenges and emphasised that the fight against drug abuse requires collective action. She motivated the students to remain vigilant, united, and proactive in building a drug-free society, calling it a crucial need of the hour.
