Chandigarh, September 14: Haryana’s Energy, Transport & Labour Minister, Sh. Anil ViJ said that the government is taking concrete steps to boost industrial development in Ambala Cantonment. As part of this initiative, the process of acquiring approximately 2,600 acres of land adjacent to the Saha Industrial Area will soon be resumed.
The Minister said that a new Industrial Area and Logistic Park will be developed on this proposed land. Alongside, the Railways is also progressing with plans to establish a freight terminal nearby. The development of the Industrial Area, Logistic Park, and Freight Terminal in close proximity will not only provide comprehensive facilities to industries but also strengthen the regional industrial infrastructure, generating thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities.
Sh. Vij, while reviewing the arrangements at Ambala, directed the Deputy Commissioner to immediately restart the acquisition process for the 2,600 acres of land. He clarified that the process was earlier halted due to elections but will now be expedited. He also informed that several farmers had expressed willingness to provide their land to the government and had already applied through the e-Bhoomi portal in the past.
During the interaction, entrepreneurs requested the Minister to provide land near the Saha Industrial Area to set up their industries. Responding to them, Sh. Vij assured that the government is working in the best interests of the industry and will provide full support.

Highlighting the benefits, the Minister said that the synergy between the Industrial Area, Logistic Park, and Freight Terminal at Saha would prove to be a boon for industries. It will accelerate production, transportation, and export-related activities, offering immense convenience to investors.

Entrepreneurs acknowledged that due to the persistent efforts of Sh. Anil Vij, various departments have been working rapidly in the Industrial Area. Recently, on his directions, a large number of sanitation workers, public health department machinery, electricity board staff, and other departmental teams have been deployed and are working round the clock.

During his visit, the Minister directly interacted with sanitation workers and boosted their morale. He appreciated their dedicated efforts in restoring normalcy after heavy rains and waterlogging. Workers raised slogans of “Anil Vij Zindabad” during the interaction.

Sh. Vij also reviewed progress with officials who informed that electricity supply has already been restored in 43 factories, and by Sunday evening, power supply would be restored in up to 95% of units. He emphasized that the War Room set up in the Industrial Area will remain active until all arrangements are fully restored, ensuring effective coordination among departments.

Chandigarh, September 14. Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister Anil Vij emphasized that it is vital to recognize those who contribute positively to society. Such appreciation, he said, not only encourages the people but also inspires others to step forward in the service of society.
Addressing as the Chief Guest at the “Excellence Honor Ceremony” organized by a media group at the Kingfisher Tourist Spot in Ambala, Sh. Vij saluted the organizers for honoring “the real warriors of Ambala,” including doctors and other social contributors. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Ambala Mayor Shailja Sachdeva also graced the occasion as a special guest.Minister Vij highlighted that true social service must be selfless, drawing a parallel with a lamp that burns its wick and oil to spread light. “Similarly, we must dedicate ourselves to helping the needy without expectation,” he remarked.
Marking Hindi Diwas, Vij lauded the celebration of India’s mother tongue. “Hindi is our mother tongue. Reading Hindi instills a sense of belonging, values, and culture,” he said. He criticized the trend of treating English as a status symbol, describing it as a “borrowed language.” Citing examples from France, China, Germany, and Japan, he emphasized that all developed nations advanced through their own languages. “When German doctors can operate in German, and French engineers can build ships in French, why should our engineering and medical books not be written in Hindi?” he asked, stressing the importance of promoting education in the mother tongue.
Referring to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sh. Vij hailed doctors as “living gods” who risked their lives to save others. He commended the media group for identifying and felicitating individuals who provided exemplary service during the recent waterlogging crisis in Ambala. In an emotional moment, the Minister recited his self-written lines- “I am but a small bird, never wished to soar too high.” The verses struck a chord with the audience, drawing applause and admiration.
Media group officials presented mementoes to Chief Guest Anil Vij and Guest of Honour Mayor Shailja Sachdeva. Artists Lucky Ji and Sanjeev Bhutani entertained the gathering with soulful performances. A video presentation showcased recent development works in Ambala Cantonment, including the upcoming international-level War Memorial dedicated to the Revolution of 1857.
