Chandigarh, May 16 - Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini said that in today’s era of mobile technology and social media, the younger generation must not drift away with their cultural roots in the pursuit of modernity. He said that Youth should embrace spiritual wisdom and the message of karma as taught by Lord Shri Krishna to maintaining balance in life.
The Chief Minister made these remarks while addressing the Shri Krishna Kripa Prerna Utsav organized to celebrate the birthday of Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand in Gurugram late last evening.
Sh Nayab Singh Saini extended his heartfelt wishes to Swami Gyananand on his birthday and received his blessings during the event. The festival also saw the participation of Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta, saints from across the country, and renowned Bhajan singers.

Welcoming saints from various parts of the country as well as Haryana’s daughter and Delhi Chief Minister Mrs. Rekha Gupta, the Chief Minister praised their presence and contribution to the cultural spirit of the event. In his address, he encouraged the youth to embrace values of love and sacrifice, irrespective of the professions they choose — be it as doctors, engineers, or entrepreneurs. "Whenever you find time, read at least two verses from the Gita," he urged, highlighting the timeless relevance of spiritual texts. He added, “Our goal is to ensure that future generations not only read about Indian culture in books but also live it in their everyday lives.”
Operation Sindoor: A Symbol of National Dignity
The Chief Minister said that Gurugram is not merely a modern city, but a land deeply rooted in cultural and spiritual consciousness since the time of the Mahabharata. It was here that Guru Dronacharya imparted lessons on dharma and war to his disciples. He added that while saints have always guided society on the path of non-violence, there have been moments when our patience has been mistaken for weakness. In such times, India has responded with strength and determination. Referring to a recent incident in Pahalgam, the Chief Minister said that our armed forces decisively eliminated terrorists by crossing the border during Operation Sindoor. This strategic military action, carried out under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi, has emerged as a powerful symbol of national dignity and resilience.
Along with material development, Spiritual Consciousness is also being elevated
While extending his congratulations to Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand, the Chief Minister praised his tireless efforts, adding that the profound wisdom of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is now reaching people across the globe. He said that the Haryana government is not solely focused on material progress but is equally committed to nurturing spiritual consciousness in the state. As part of this vision, the Gita Mahotsav has been elevated to an international level, aiming to establish Kurukshetra as a globally recognized spiritual and religious destination. In addition, through the Tirtha Darshan Yojana, senior citizens are being provided with the opportunity to undertake pilgrimages.

Chandigarh, May 16: The Haryana Government is consistently implementing effective measures to ensure the prompt resolution of public grievances and to enhance transparency in governance. As part of these efforts, a key review meeting was held at Haryana Niwas under the chairmanship of Dr. Saket Kumar, Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, to review the complaints received through the Jan Samvad Portal and CM Window, and to assess the progress of various departmental initiatives. The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Urban Local Bodies Department and the Citizen Resource Information Department (CRID), along with the Chief Minister's OSDs, Sh Vivek Kalia and Sh Rakesh Sandhu.
At the outset of the meeting, Sh Vivek Kalia, OSD to the Chief Minister, informed that applications received directly by the Chief Minister during his visits or during public hearings held at Sant Kabir Kutir are uploaded to the Jan Samvad Portal. The progress of these cases is personally reviewed by the Chief Minister on a weekly basis.
Following this, a serious complaint from Tikri village in Karnal district was discussed, involving the wrongful inclusion of an unknown woman’s name in the Parivar Pehchan Patra (PPP). Despite repeated efforts by the complainant, Sushil Kumar, the issue remained unresolved. Taking cognizance of this serious administrative lapse, directions were issued to fix responsibility, take disciplinary action against the guilty official, and register an FIR.
During the meeting, officials took note of a case where several installments under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in urban areas were pending due to a lack of inspections by Urban Local Bodies (ULB) officials. Taking serious note of the issue, Dr. Saket Kumar directed the department to submit the list of pending beneficiaries and ensure the prompt disbursement of payments.
Furthermore, orders were issued to suspend the Executive Engineer (XEN) posted at the department's headquarters after a significant number of unresolved complaints were found in the Urban Local Bodies Department.
The Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) of all districts have been directed to ensure the resolution of all pending cases within a week. Additionally, a formal advisory has been be issued, stating that any negligence in addressing complaints related to the Jan Samvad Portal and CM Window will not be tolerated.
During the meeting, while reviewing the tenders for development works, instructions were given to quickly assess the feasibility of all pending proposals and prepare rough estimates. The tender process is to commence immediately after obtaining administrative approval.
A case related to Shahabad, in which a No Due Certificate (NOC) was issued for a colony in an incorrect manner, has been recommended to the Vigilance Branch of the Chief Secretary's Office for investigation. Additionally, orders were issued to issue a charge sheet against the Municipal Engineer found guilty at the initial stage of the investigation.

Haryana Government Mandates Video Conferencing in Quasi-Judicial Proceedings
Decision to be Implemented Across Key Commissions and Authorities
Chandigarh, May 16 - The Haryana Government has directed the adoption of video conferencing facilities in the proceedings of Commissions and Authorities functioning as quasi-judicial bodies across the state.
In a letter addressed to all concerned Administrative Secretaries and Heads of the Departments, Chief Secretary Sh. Anurag Rastogi stated that the Department of Administration of Justice has notified the establishment of Designated Conferencing Facilities. These facilities will now be utilized for the appearance of government officials via video conference in all commissions and authorities functioning as quasi-judicial bodies.
This move aligns with the provisions of the newly enacted Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 such as Section 336 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Evidence of public servants, experts, police officers in certain cases), and Section 530 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (Trial and proceedings to be held in electronic mode). Additionally, the Supreme Court of India, in Civil Appeal Nos. 23-24 of 2024 in Special Leave to Appeal (C) Nos. 8575-8576 of 2023, titled “The State of Uttar Pradesh and Others Vs. Association of Retired Supreme Court and High Court Judges at Allahabad and Others”, has formulated a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) that also promotes the appearance of government officials through video conference.
The letter further stated that the use of video conferencing facilities be adopted in Haryana Human Rights Commission, Haryana State Commission for Women, Haryana Backward Classes Commission, Haryana Scheduled Castes Commission, Haryana Right to Service Commission, State Information Commission, Haryana and State Police Complaint Authority, Haryana.
Officials have been instructed to ensure strict compliance with these guidelines. Any deviation or laxity in implementation will be viewed seriously by the state government, the letter added.

High-tension power lines will be removed from above houses in Mahendragarh: Arvind Kumar Sharma
Chandigarh, May 16 - Haryana's Cooperative Minister Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma said 504 dangerous 11/33 KV power lines identified in Mahendragarh district will be removed from above the houses. This work will be completed by the end of the year. Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma was chairing the meeting of the District Grievance Redressal Committee in Narnaul today. On this occasion, he held a public hearing of 14 pre-determined cases.
During this, speaking on the complaint of Balwan Singh, a resident of Uninda village, the minister directed the officials that the tenders for the already identified dangerous power lines have been opened, so the work should be completed within the stipulated time. On the complaint of illegal occupation by Gram Panchayat Bachini, he directed that this work should be completed after the proposed visit of the Chief Minister on May 18. On the complaint of Motilal, a resident of Khatoti Sultanpur, the officials informed that notices have been issued in the related matter and illegal encroachments will be removed soon.
On this occasion, Narnaul MLA and former minister Sh. Omprakash Yadav, Nangal Chaudhary MLA Smt. Manju Chaudhary, BJP District President Sh. Election Commission takes new initiatives to ensure free and fair elections
So far, 4,719 meetings have been held
Chandigarh, May 16 – Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal, said that the Election Commission of India is continuously taking new initiatives to make the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies election process more transparent and fair.
He said that Chief Election Commissioner Sh. Gyanesh Kumar and Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi had an interaction with the Aam Aadmi Party led by its National Convener, Sh. Arvind Kejriwal at Nirvachan Sadan on May 15, 2025 . The meeting is in continuation of the interactions being held by ECI with the Presidents of various National and State Political Parties.
The Commission had earlier met with the delegations of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), led by the Party President Km. Mayawati, on May 06, 2025; the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), led by the Party President Sh. Jagat Prakash Nadda, on May 08, 2025, the General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), Sh. M.A. Baby on May 10, 2025 and the Party President of the National People’s Party, Sh. Conrad Sangma on May 13, 2025.
He further said that to ensure an error-free voter list, a total of 4,719 meetings have been organised with the representatives of national and state recognized political parties and other stakeholders. Out of these, 40 meetings were conducted by the CEOs, 800 by DEOs, and 3,879 by EROs. More than 28,000 representatives from different political parties participated in these meetings.
He said that this initiative aligns with the commission's vision of further strengthening the electoral process in accordance with the existing legal framework with all stakeholders.
