Chandigarh, June 21, 2026 :Goswami Ganesh Dutta Sanatan Dharma College (GGDSD)* is proud to announce that its documentary Nirmala: ‘Protecting the Sacred Flow’ has won its third consecutive award.
The film received:
1. Best Documentary Award – Student Category at the 10th Cinema Father International Film Festival*
2. Special Festival Mention at the 13th Bangalore Film Festival*, held on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
The Cinema Father International Film Festival and the 13th Bangalore Film Festival are among the biggest one-day international film festivals. Out of approx. 399 entries, only the 100 best films were shortlisted, and ‘Nirmala’ was among them.
Principal of GGDSD College, Dr. Ajay Sharma, said GGDSD College has always stood for values beyond textbooks. Documentary film ‘Nirmala’ winning its third international award, after the Honorable Jury Mention at the 13th Dadasaheb Phalke Film Festival, to double win at two major international festivals in Bangalore, June 21st, 2026, speaks volumes about the creative caliber and commitment of our students and faculty. ‘Nirmala’ is more than a film; it is GGDSD’s contribution to the national conversation on protecting our rivers. I congratulate Dr. Priya Chadha and her team for giving our sacred Ganga a voice that the world is recognizing at the global level."
