Mahendergarh, 18.11.25-Professor Harish Kumar, Head of the Department of Chemistry at the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, has been honoured with the National Award 2025 by the Association of Chemistry Teachers during an international conference held in Ujjain.
Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice Chancellor congratulated him and said that the University is committed to promoting high-quality research driven by digital innovation, startups, and skill development. He added that CUH is advancing research by focusing on digital innovation, startups, skills, and creativity.
Prof. Harish Kumar received the award—comprising a cash prize of ₹51,000 and a certificate of appreciation—during the international conference organised with the support of the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education and the Tata Institute. The honour was presented by the association’s President, D. B. Prabhu, and his team. He was selected for this prestigious award from among chemistry researchers across India.
Expressing his gratitude, Prof. Harish Kumar dedicated the award to the research and innovation ecosystem of CUH. He acknowledged the continuous support and resources provided under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, which enabled him to publish his work in globally renowned journals with an impact factor of 23, along with securing multiple patents. His major research contributions include scientific methods for preventing air pollution, reducing smog, and purifying contaminated water.
