Chandigarh February 20, 2024-Panjab University's (PU) Department of Biochemistry is gearing up to host 6th international conference on nutraceuticals and chronic diseases and 10th meeting of society for translational cancer research.
The event will start with a pre-conference workshop from today, followed by a three-day sessions from February 22 to 24. The theme–'Nutraceuticals: Basic Science to Clinical Applications.' The event includes a total of 17 sessions with more than 80 delegates from around the world.
The chief patron is vice-chancellor Professor Renu Vig. The conference will feature key speakers from universities of USA, Japan, and Indian delegates from IITs, AIIMS, PGIMER, JNU, Jamia Millia Islamia, central universities of Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Kerala among others.
This will serve as a platform for discussion on basic sciences to recent trends in nutraceutical research, with a focus on their potential in preventing and treating chronic diseases. The organising secretary Professor Navneet Agnihotri shared that nutraceuticals are part of daily life. For instance, the turmeric powder carries curcumin which is a nutraceutical.
The event will cover oral as well as poster presentations and winners will be felicitated.
