Rohit Pandey and Nancy Sharma were adjudged the Best Athlete (Boy) and Best Athlete (Girl) respectively at the Annual Athletic Meet of Government College of Education, Sector 20-D, Chandigarh.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, highlighted several key dimensions of the Union Budget 2026. He spoke about the increasing role of digital systems, mails, and online applications, particularly in relation to University governance and academic administration.

The event was formally inaugurated with the blessings and welcome address by Prof. Sunita Srivastava, President, IIC. In her address, she emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary thinking, a startup-oriented mindset, innovative approaches, and adaptability among students and researchers to meet the demands of the present professional and industrial landscape.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma remarked that such initiatives play a pivotal role in nurturing an innovation-driven mindset among students and preparing them to address real-world challenges with creativity and confidence.

The programme commenced on each day with Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma warmly welcoming the distinguished resource persons and addressing the gathering.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, emphasised that innovation today must go beyond ideation and institutional boundaries.

The meet was inaugurated by Ms. Prerna Puri, IAS, Secretary Education and Secretary Sports, Chandigarh Administration, in the presence of the Principal of the college, Dr. Sapna Nanda, and Dr. Neelam Paul, Associate Professor, Physical Education.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of the University said that CUH is committed to providing not only quality education but also employment-oriented opportunities to its students.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the initiative of the Department of Music and remarked that such workshops play a vital role in enhancing students’ creative expression, confidence, and musical proficiency, while providing them with valuable experiential learning opportunities.

The expert talk was delivered by Dr. Ankita Arya, a Postdoctoral Scientist at SciLifeLab, Karolinska Institute, Sweden.

Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar Vice-Chancellor in his message highlighted the importance of developing scientific temper, curiosity, and responsibility towards society and the environment.

Dr. Anshu Kataria, Chairman, Aryans Group of Colleges, in his address said that awareness is the strongest weapon against cancer.

Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma congratulated the winners and appreciated the dedicated efforts of the department and the Maths Club in organising a successful academic event that provided students with an opportunity to interact, collaborate, and showcase their talent while making the learning of Mathematics engaging and meaningful.
