T.S. Central State Library, Sector 17, Chandigarh, celebrated National Reading Day and International Yoga Day with a series of enriching activities for children aged 7–14 years. The programme was organised by Dr. Neeza Singh, Librarian, under the patronage of Mrs. Neelam Bansal, Library Incharge.

Punjab Lit Foundation, in collaboration with T.S. Central State Library, Sector 17, Chandigarh, organised an awareness programme titled “Mothers Against Drugs” to promote drug-free lifestyles and strengthen family-based prevention against substance abuse.

The workshop was conducted by artist and art educator Ms. Deepti Saini Gupta for children aged 3–6 years.

The celebration commenced with a plantation drive under the nationwide campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” at Ashima Chatterji Girls Hostel and Kalpana Chawla Girls Hostel of the university. Prof. Pawan K. Sharma, Pro Vice-Chancellor, and Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar, CUH, led the plantation activity and encouraged students to actively participate in environmental conservation efforts.

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated, "Education should never be limited by financial circumstances.Every deserving and talented student must have access to opportunities that enable them to realise their full potential".

Gearing up for the admission process for the academic session 2026-27, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women officially released its College and Hostel Prospectus, here today. The prospectuses were unveiled by Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma along with members of the Prospectus Committee.

A total of 90 children are participating in the SummerFest activities. Dr. Neeza Singh, Librarian, appreciated the enthusiastic response and highlighted the importance of such programmes in fostering creativity, confidence, and lifelong learning among children.
