Chandigarh, August 24- With an objective of giving fresh impetus to investment opportunities in Haryana and further strengthening the State as a leading industrial and investment destination in the country, Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini on Monday held a roundtable conference with leading investors, global investment firms and representatives of the industry in Mumbai under the ongoing ‘Happening Haryana 2.0’ Global Capital Campaign. Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Sh. Rao Narbir Singh was also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said that the industry has a crucial role to play in accelerating the country’s economic growth and realizing Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat. He said the Haryana Government aims to make the State a trusted, responsive and investor-friendly destination where investors get not only better business opportunities but also confidence and a positive experience while working with the government.
Concrete and Time-Bound Action on Investors’ Suggestions
The Chief Minister said that during the meeting, investors shared several important and practical suggestions based on their experience. The government will work with the concerned departments to convert these suggestions into a time-bound action plan. Wherever required, clear departmental ownership will be ensured for implementation of the suggestions. The government will also undertake necessary reforms to simplify matters related to land, approvals and other procedures.
The Chief Minister told the investors that if their portfolio companies are exploring opportunities in Haryana for expansion, manufacturing, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), technology and logistics, the State Government’s team is ready to remain engaged with them and provide all possible facilitation. He said the Haryana Government seeks to establish a long-term partnership with the industry, rather than merely attracting investment.
New Policy for Defence Sector to be Introduced Soon
Investment opportunities and prospects in the defence sector were discussed extensively during the meeting. The Chief Minister said that the maximum number of suggestions and expressions of interest from investors were related to the defence sector. Keeping in view the potential of this sector, the government is considering introducing a dedicated policy for the defence sector soon.
He said efforts are also underway to explore cluster-based development at various locations to promote defence manufacturing and allied industries in Haryana. In the last Budget, an announcement was made to establish 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) in Haryana, and work related to land for these projects is progressing.
The Chief Minister said a manufacturing cluster is being developed alongside Maharaja Agrasen Airport in Hisar. The possibilities of further developing a defence cluster in this area will also be explored. In addition, work is progressing on a plan to develop another industrial cluster in the Haryana region near Jewar Airport.
Skilled Workforce to be Developed as per Industry Requirements
The Chief Minister said providing land and facilities to industries alone is not sufficient; ensuring the availability of skilled human resources as per their requirements is also a priority of the government.
The Haryana Government has taken steps to link ITIs and polytechnic institutions with industries through MoUs, enabling youth to receive training in line with industry requirements. This will provide industries with the skilled manpower they need while creating new employment opportunities for the youth.
Happening Haryana Global Investor Summit to be Held in April 2027
The Chief Minister invited investors and their leadership teams to participate in the Happening Haryana Global Investor Summit to be held in Haryana in April 2027. He expressed confidence that the Mumbai meeting would mark the beginning of a strong and long-term partnership between Haryana and the investor community.
The Chief Minister said Haryana is playing an important role in realizing Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat. The government is working to create an investment ecosystem in the State where simplified policies, faster approvals, better infrastructure, skilled manpower and effective investor facilitation are available together.

Chandigarh, August 24 – MoUs involving investment of more than Rs. 66,000 crore in Haryana were signed with various companies on the second day of the ‘Happening Haryana 2.0’ international outreach campaign organised by the Haryana Government in Mumbai, India’s financial capital. Officers and company representatives exchanged the MoUs in the presence of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini and Industries and Commerce Minister Sh. Rao Narbir Singh.
Addressing Consuls General of various countries, industry leaders, investors and representatives of Mumbai’s financial and corporate sector on the second day of his Mumbai visit, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said Haryana offers investors much more than land, incentives and approvals. The state offers a strategic partnership built around scale, speed, policy certainty and shared prosperity.
The Chief Minister said the Haryana Government believes in project movement, not file movement. He said the Haryana Government has constituted an Industry-Worker Friendship Council to resolve issues relating to the rights of industries and workers, as well as other industrial disputes.
The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi, India is rapidly strengthening its position among the world’s major economic powers. Digital infrastructure, connectivity, manufacturing, startups, skill development and self-reliance have strengthened the country’s economic foundations, and India is moving rapidly towards becoming the world’s third-largest economy.
He said Haryana has emerged as an important growth engine in this development journey. Despite accounting for only about 1.3 per cent of the country’s geographical area, Haryana contributes around 3.6 per cent to the national economy.
He said Haryana has emerged as a major hub for automobiles, agro-industries, engineering, electronics, logistics, IT services and corporate activities. Gurugram is established as a global services and technology hub, Faridabad as an engineering and manufacturing centre, and Manesar as an automobile and auto-component cluster. Districts including Panipat, Yamunanagar, Ambala, Karnal and Sonipat are also contributing to the state’s growth through their distinct industrial and agriculture-based strengths.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said MoUs worth Rs. 1.10 lakh crore were signed recently at the Industry Policy launch programme held in Gurugram. Of the 123 companies that signed MoUs, 108 have already been provided land. For Haryana, an MoU is not merely a signing ceremony but a symbol of commitment, he said.
He said the government will develop new growth nodes by integrating district-specific clusters with land, skills and connectivity. North Haryana will focus on food processing, pharmaceuticals, scientific instruments and logistics; Central Haryana on engineering, textiles, automobiles and warehousing; South Haryana on IT, electronics, e-mobility, Global Capability Centres (GCCs) and advanced manufacturing; and Western Haryana on agro-industry, renewable energy, textiles and export-oriented units.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini said the vision of a developed Haryana goes beyond industrial expansion and focuses on better, faster, greener, inclusive and future-ready growth. Agriculture will be accorded importance equal to industry, with emphasis on connecting farmers with processing, value addition and global markets in addition to production. Agritech, drones, data, storage, packaging and branding will be leveraged to improve farmers’ incomes and competitiveness.
He said that in line with the Prime Minister’s goal of a developed India by 2047, Haryana has prepared the ‘Haryana Vision Document-2047’. The state aims to take its economy beyond US$1 trillion, increase per capita income, strengthen the employability of youth and economic participation of women, and make every district an active partner in the development process.
Education and skills, healthcare, climate-resilient agriculture, smart infrastructure, balanced regional development and sustainable financial systems have been identified as key pillars of this growth strategy.

The Chief Minister said the Haryana Government gives five guarantees to investors—policy stability; time-bound decisions and approvals; proactive hand-holding of projects; skills and connectivity aligned with industry requirements; and linking investment with local employment, MSMEs, innovation and regional development.
Inviting industry leaders to establish ambitious projects in Haryana, he assured investors of complete government support backed by transparent processes, swift decision-making and accountable governance.

No entrepreneur investing in Haryana will be allowed to face any difficulty – Industries and Commerce Minister
Industries and Commerce Minister Sh. Rao Narbir Singh said Haryana’s geographical location and strong connectivity make it an important investment destination. Almost every district in the state is connected to the national highway network, and travelling from one end of Haryana to the other now takes no more than around three-and-a-half hours, compared with seven to eight hours before 2014.
He said road and transport connectivity has witnessed unprecedented improvement during the BJP government’s tenure. Haryana has a Chief Minister who believes not merely in making announcements, but in getting work done, he added.
Inviting investors to Haryana, Sh. Rao Narbir Singh said industries will be provided every facility and support that an entrepreneur expects. Gurugram has emerged as a hub for some of the world’s leading industries and companies, while the Haryana Government remains fully committed to welcoming investors and meeting their requirements.
On behalf of the Chief Minister, he assured investors that no entrepreneur investing in Haryana would be allowed to face any difficulty.
Haryana Government assures investors of a strong, reliable and enabling environment – Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal
Commissioner and Secretary, Industries and Commerce Department, Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal said the Haryana Government has come here not merely to invite investors, but to assure them of a strong, reliable and enabling environment for investment in the state.
He said Haryana accounts for around 1.3 per cent of India’s geographical area and nearly 2 per cent of its population, yet contributes approximately 3.6 per cent to the national GDP. Haryana’s per capita income is around Rs. 4 lakh, while its GST collections have performed better than the national average over the past few years.
Dr. Amit Kumar Agrawal said around two-thirds of the passenger cars manufactured in India, nearly 60 per cent of motorcycles, as well as tractors and refrigerators, are manufactured in Haryana. Around 57 per cent of the National Capital Region (NCR) falls within Haryana, giving the state access to a vast market, skilled human resources and a strong industrial base.
He said the government is moving towards a trust-based system while providing online services to industries and is also ensuring faster disposal of subsidy cases.
Ease of Access complements Ease of Doing Business in Haryana
During the programme, investors appreciated the Haryana Government’s good governance and its transparent, swift and decisive decision-making process. They said Haryana offers not only Ease of Doing Business but also Ease of Access, enabling quicker resolution of issues faced by industries.
Investors said the payment of subsidies to industries within just seven days is an excellent example of Haryana’s industry-friendly policies and effective industrial ecosystem. Power-related grievances of consumers in Panchkula district to be heard on August 25, 2026
Chandigarh, August 24– Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) is committed to providing uninterrupted power supply to consumers. The Nigam is implementing several ambitious programmes for the prompt resolution of consumer grievances.
Sharing more details in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the Chairman and members of the Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum of UHBVN Circle Forum, Panchkula, will hold proceedings on August 25, 2026 (Tuesday), from 11:30 a.m. at the office of the Superintending Engineer, Panchkula, SCO No. 96, First Floor, Sector-5, Panchkula. During the proceedings, only grievances of consumers of Panchkula district will be heard.
The spokesperson said that forum members will hear all types of grievances of consumers in Panchkula district, primarily including complaints related to billing, voltage and metering; disconnection and reconnection of electricity connections; interruptions in power supply; deficiencies in efficiency, safety and reliability; and non-compliance with the orders of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission.
However, the Forum will not hear cases relating to penalties and fines in matters of electricity theft and unauthorised use of electricity under Sections 126 and 135 to 139 of the Electricity Act, or cases relating to inquiries and accidents under Section 161 of the Act.
All consumers are requested to avail themselves of this opportunity for the redressal of their grievances.

Chandigarh, August 24- Haryana has stepped up preparedness ahead of the upcoming influenza season, with health facilities across the state being directed to strengthen arrangements for prevention, early detection and effective treatment of flu cases.
Divulging more details, Health Minister, Ms. Arti Singh Rao, said hospitals and health centres across all districts have been asked to ensure adequate availability of essential medicines, testing facilities, infection-control supplies and critical-care resources.
She said the government’s focus is on early identification of potential influenza cases, preventing the spread of infection and ensuring prompt treatment for patients who develop serious illness. On her directions, the Director General Health Services, Haryana, has issued a detailed advisory to all Civil Surgeons and Directors of Medical Colleges in the state outlining the preparedness measures to be put in place.
Dedicated flu corners for early screening
Ms Arti Singh Rao said dedicated flu corners have been directed to remain operational at health centres and hospitals across Haryana. Patients reporting with fever, cold, cough, sore throat or other flu-like symptoms will undergo preliminary screening at these corners, facilitating early identification of suspected cases and timely testing and treatment.
The Health Minister said influenza surveillance and testing arrangements have also been strengthened. At least 5 per cent of patients with ILI (Influenza-like Illness) will be tested for influenza, while 100 per cent of patients suffering from SARI (Severe Acute Respiratory Infection) will undergo influenza testing.
Adequate stocks of medicines and infection-control supplies
All government hospitals have been directed to maintain adequate stocks of essential medicines, including Oseltamivir. They have also been asked to ensure sufficient availability of PPE kits, N95 masks and other infection-control supplies so that patient care and the safety of healthcare workers are not compromised whenever these resources are required.
Private hospitals also part of surveillance network
The Health Minister said private hospitals and the Indian Medical Association (IMA) will also be involved in strengthening influenza surveillance across Haryana. Private healthcare institutions have been directed to update information related to flu cases on the IDSP-IHIP portal on time. This will enable continuous and effective monitoring of the influenza situation across the state.
Ventilator support and critical-care facilities to remain ready
Ms. Arti Singh Rao said hospitals have been directed to keep necessary ventilator support and critical-care facilities ready for the treatment of seriously ill patients. Human resources, equipment and other essential arrangements at hospitals will be reviewed regularly to ensure that patients do not face delays in receiving treatment when required.
She said healthcare workers have been strictly directed to maintain hand hygiene and comply with all infection-control protocols. Healthcare workers experiencing cold, cough or flu-like symptoms have also been advised to wear face masks to help prevent the spread of infection.
Public awareness remains an important part of preparedness
The Health Minister said the government’s approach is not limited to treatment, and creating awareness among people about influenza is equally important. IEC activities and public-awareness campaigns will be undertaken across the state to inform people about influenza symptoms, preventive measures and the importance of seeking timely medical advice.
Ms Arti Singh Rao appealed to people not to ignore symptoms such as fever, cough, sore throat, difficulty in breathing or other flu-like symptoms. Those experiencing such symptoms should seek medical advice at their nearest health centre or hospital rather than resorting to self-medication.
The Health Minister said that in view of the upcoming flu season, preparedness has been strengthened across the entire system, covering surveillance, testing, treatment and infection control. *Haryana Releases Revised Rohtak District Gazetteer 2025*
Chandigarh, August 24 – Haryana’s Financial Commissioner Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Dr. Sumita Misra released the Rohtak District Gazetteer, 2025 today at her office in the New Haryana Civil Secretariat, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
This nearly 650-page publication, 15th publication in the series of District Gazetteers brought out after Haryana was carved out as a separate State in 1966, is the first revised edition of the Rohtak District Gazetteer published in 1970. The publication contains 19 chapters spread over 484 pages with an appendix of 72 tables and 40 pages of colourful illustrations.
Dr. Sumita Misra said that District Gazetteers serve as “miniature encyclopaedias”, providing comprehensive and authentic information on a district’s geography, demography, society and culture, history, economy, administration and development.
It also records the reference of Rohtak with its ancient name ‘Rohitaka’ in the Mahabharata during the western expedition of Pandava warrior Nakula. The area was believed to have been covered by a forest of the ‘Roherra’ tree, known as ‘Rohitaka’ in Sanskrit.
Archaeological evidence indicates that the Rohtak region was inhabited from early times and emerged as a centre of cultural and political activity. The Gazetteer notes that archaeological sites in the area have been associated with settlements linked to the Indus Valley Civilisation, while the ancient mounds at Khokhrakot are believed to stand over remains associated with the Harappan Civilisation.
The Gazetteer traces political history of Rohtak district through successive regimes. The area came under the broader control of Prithvi Raj Chauhan III of the Chahmana dynasty, before passing under the control of Muhammad Ghauri following the Chauhan defeat in 1192 AD. During the Delhi Sultanate and Mughal periods, the area was frequently assigned as a military jagir to nobles. Following the Treaty of Surji Anjangaon signed on December 30, 1803, the Rohtak area, along with other territories of Maratha chief Daulat Rao Scindia west of the Yamuna, came under the control of the British East India Company.
In 1948, the district assumed its form, as a part of erstwhile Punjab, following the merger of the erstwhile Dujana State. On November 1, 1966, when Haryana was formed as the 17th State of the Union of Indian, Rohtak was among the seven original districts of the new State. At that time, the district comprised of Rohtak, Sonipat, Gohana and Jhajjar tehsils and Nahar sub-tehsil. Subsequently, Sonipat was carved out on December 22, 1972, and Jhajjar on July 15, 1997 as a separate districts from the then Rohtak district.
The revised Gazetteer records development in Rohtak district, especially during past five decades, covering vivid fields like history, people, agriculture and allied activities, industry, banking, trade and commerce, transport and communications, infrastructure, law and justice, healthcare and tourism, emergence as an important hub education and of medical facilities, sports and infrastructure besides, its growing importance within the National Capital Region and its connectivity with Delhi and adjoining areas.
She said such publications are valuable reference material for administrators, planners, researchers, journalists, tourists and the general public. She expressed hope that the revised Rohtak Gazetteer would prove useful to scholars, historians, social scientists and civil society.
The Rohtak District Gazetteer will be available at the Sale Depot, Printing and Stationery Department, Government Press, Sector-6, Panchkula. To ensure wider access to this valuable record of the district’s history, heritage and development, copies will also be made available in district libraries and State universities across Haryana.

Chandigarh, August 24 – Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Sh. Vipul Goel said that all public representatives and officers are servants of the people and it should be the constant endeavour of everyone to ensure that every grievance of citizens is resolved within a stipulated time frame.
Sh. Vipul Goel was chairing the monthly meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee in Narnaul on Monday. During the meeting, 10 pre-scheduled grievances were heard in detail.
The Cabinet Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, the State Government is fully committed to functioning with complete transparency, impartiality and accountability.
Taking cognisance of the waterlogging issue during the meeting, the Minister directed the Executive Engineer of the Irrigation Department to visit the site and examine the technical feasibility so that the department concerned could take the work forward in a systematic and effective manner.
Necessary directions were also issued for the repair of parks in Narnaul and to address the issue of stray cattle. Regarding contaminated water at Peepla Wali Bani in Kanina, officers informed the committee that a pond would be constructed over an area of seven acres in the village. Tenders for the work have already been floated, and the project is expected to provide a permanent solution to the problem.
While hearing another grievance concerning alleged irregularities in the construction of sheds and boards in several villages, the Revenue Minister directed that the matter be referred to the Vigilance Department for investigation.
Regarding the suspicious death of a youth at the dam in Banihari village, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sh. Bharat Bhushan informed the committee that the viscera had been sent to the Forensic Science Laboratory, Madhuban, for examination. Strict legal action, as per rules, would be taken after receipt of the laboratory report and the final opinion of the doctors.

Education Minister Conducts Surprise Inspections of Three Schools, Reviews Facilities and Administrative Arrangements
Minister personally visits schools to assess ground-level situation, strengthen infrastructure and bring greater administrative discipline in government educational institutions
Chandigarh, August 24 – Haryana Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda is taking proactive steps to strengthen the state’s government education system and bring about comprehensive improvements at the grassroots level in government schools. With the objective of strengthening infrastructure and bringing greater administrative discipline in government educational institutions across the state, the Education Minister is personally visiting schools to assess the situation on the ground.
As part of this initiative, the Education Minister conducted surprise inspections of three government schools on Monday. He first visited the Government Primary School and Government High School at Raipur Roran village in the Nilokheri area of Karnal district. Thereafter, he visited the ‘PM SHRI’ Government Senior Secondary School, Saha, in Ambala. During the inspections, the Minister closely reviewed cleanliness on the school premises, basic facilities such as drinking water and toilets, as well as administrative arrangements.
Direct interaction with Sarpanches, SMCs and students
During the inspections, Education Minister Sh. Mahipal Dhanda took a new and sensitive initiative. He called the Panches and Sarpanches of the respective villages to the spot so that local-level issues could be discussed immediately. Thereafter, the Minister interacted with the School Management Committees (SMCs) and visited each classroom to directly interact with students. He sought detailed information from them regarding the level of studies, availability of books and other problems.
The Education Minister issued directions that problems which can be resolved at the Panchayat or Sarpanch level should be addressed immediately with the cooperation of the local administration and Panchayat. At the same time, regarding issues falling within the jurisdiction of the Education Department, the Minister gave a firm assurance that these would be resolved at the earliest on priority.
Plan to transform 1,500 government schools
During the visit, the Education Minister said the Haryana Education Department is fully committed to developing government schools across the state as model educational institutions. For this purpose, the department has prepared a detailed and phased plan.
In the first phase of the plan, 1,500 government schools across the state have been identified, where a better academic environment, modern basic facilities and necessary resources will be provided. After completion of the first phase, all other government schools will also be renovated in a phased manner so that quality education can be ensured in government schools on the lines of private schools.
Strict stance against negligence, emphasis on cleanliness
The Education Minister directed departmental officers that no laxity or negligence in the functioning of government educational institutions would be tolerated. Interacting with teachers and principals, he said teachers should discharge their responsibilities with complete sincerity and dedication.
He also directed that special attention be paid to cleanliness in schools and said that a clean environment forms the foundation for the holistic development of children.
Education Minister leading from the ground
Notably, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda has been personally visiting government schools to assess the situation on the ground and review issues requiring attention. During these visits, efforts are being made to address concerns at the appropriate level and strengthen the functioning of government educational institutions.
In recent days, Sh. Mahipal Dhanda has conducted surprise inspections of three government colleges and five government schools across the state. These continuous visits have increased accountability among officers and employees of the Education Department, while also strengthening the confidence of the general public and students in the government education system.

Chandigarh, August 24 – Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa directed Municipal Council officers to get the sewer lines in Sector-1 of Rewari city cleaned using a Super Sucker machine and ensure a permanent solution to the waterlogging problem at Holi Park.
Cabinet Minister Sh. Ranbir Gangwa was chairing a meeting of the District Grievance Redressal Committee at Bal Bhawan Auditorium in Rewari on Monday. Taking cognisance of a complaint raised by residents of Sector-1, he directed the Executive Officer of the Municipal Council to ensure the drainage of contaminated water.
Rewari MLA Sh. Laxman Singh Yadav, Kosli MLA Sh. Anil Yadav, Bawal MLA Dr. Krishan Kumar, Deputy Commissioner Sh. Abhishek Meena, Superintendent of Police Sh. Hemendra Meena, Additional Deputy Commissioner Sh. Rahul Modi, PPP State Coordinator Dr. Satish Khola and BJP District President Dr. Vandana Popli, among others, were present at the meeting.
During the meeting, acting on a complaint by Rewari resident Manjeet Kumar, the Public Works Minister directed the Executive Officer of the Urban Development Authority to allot a plot to the applicant with immediate effect and conduct an inquiry to ascertain the employee or officer responsible for the delay in the matter.
In the case of Bhateri Devi, a resident of Sahadat Nagar, whose plot had been shown as falling on a road, Sh. Ranbir Gangwa directed the District Town Planner (DTP) to get the colony map approved in accordance with the existing situation.
Kuldeep Singh, a resident of Sulkha village, raised a complaint regarding rainwater entering his house during the rainy season. The Cabinet Minister directed that a Duty Magistrate be appointed and a drain be constructed at the site.
A total of 13 grievances were heard during the meeting, of which four were resolved on the spot. Regarding the remaining cases, the Chairman directed the concerned authorities to submit reports.

State-level Been Playing Competition to be held on September 2
Chandigarh, August 24- The Department of Art and Cultural Affairs, Haryana, will organise a state-level competition for Been troupes at 10 am on September 2, 2026, at the Multi Art Cultural Centre, Haryana Kala Parishad, Kurukshetra. The competition aims to promote Haryana’s rich folk art and folk music traditions while providing a platform to artists associated with Been playing to showcase their talent.
The department will award first, second and third prizes, besides five consolation prizes, to the best-performing troupes. The first-prize winner will receive Rs. 75,000, the second-prize winner Rs. 60,000 and the third-prize winner Rs. 50,000. In addition, five consolation prizes of Rs. 10,000 each will be awarded.
As per the prescribed eligibility criteria, participants must be bona fide residents of Haryana and are required to carry their Aadhaar cards. Each troupe must comprise 8 to 10 artists, including at least 3 to 4 Been players. Participants will also be required to perform in traditional Haryanvi folk attire.
The department has clarified that no travelling allowance or daily allowance will be provided to participating troupes. The decision of the jury in the competition will be final and binding.
The Department of Art and Cultural Affairs has invited Been artists and troupes from across the state to participate in large numbers and contribute to preserving and enriching Haryana’s folk music tradition.

District Grievances Committee meetings aim to ensure time-bound and transparent resolution of public grievances: Minister of State for Sports Sh. Gaurav Gautam
Minister chairs District Grievances Committee meeting at Jind
Directions issued for detailed examination and necessary action in remaining three cases
Chandigarh, August 24- Haryana Minister of State for Sports Sh. Gaurav Gautam chaired a meeting of the District Grievances Committee at Jind on Monday. A total of 13 complaints were taken up for resolution, of which 10 were resolved on the spot, while officers concerned were given necessary directions for detailed examination of the remaining three cases.
Taking up a complaint regarding the provision of required facilities as per norms along the NHAI stretch passing through Jind, Sh. Gaurav Gautam sought detailed information from the inquiry officer. After considering the report of the complainant, he directed that the remaining work be completed at the earliest.
Taking serious note of the absence of any NHAI officer from the meeting, the Minister of State directed that the matter be formally brought to the notice of the Secretary, NHAI, through a written notice.
In the meeting, the matter was also taken up regarding the issue of BPL families in Bibipur village who were allotted plots in 2012 but have been unable to construct houses because of an electricity line passing over the plots. Taking cognisance of the matter, Sh. Gaurav Gautam directed the officer concerned to send a proposal to the Director, Development and Panchayats Department, for shifting the four affected plots to adjoining Panchayat land. The Additional Deputy Commissioner was entrusted with examining the matter.
In another case concerning the school at Gatauli village, students highlighted problems related to dilapidated classrooms, inadequate sanitation arrangements, a dirty drain passing through the school premises and insufficient drinking water.
Taking strict note of the situation, the Minister of State issued strict directions for immediate construction of a temporary boundary wall separating the school from the drain, installation of an additional water tank and regular maintenance of proper cleanliness at the school.
Regarding repair of the dilapidated building, departmental officers informed the committee chairman that a proposal seeking budget approval had been sent to the Director, Education Department. Four new classrooms will be constructed once the budget is received.
Sh. Gaurav Gautam said the State Government is working with sensitivity and commitment to resolve the problems faced by citizens. The purpose of District Grievances Committee meetings is to ensure time-bound and transparent redressal of public grievances so that citizens do not face unnecessary difficulties.
Complaints concerning various departments were discussed in detail during the meeting. The Minister of State directed officers to ensure that all public grievances are resolved within the stipulated timeframe, making it clear that negligence in matters concerning citizens will not be tolerated.
Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma and Superintendent of Police Sh. Kuldeep Singh, officers of various departments and non-official members of the Grievances Committee also remained present at the meeting.

Chandigarh, August 24- Haryana Social Justice, Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya (SEWA) Minister Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said the State Government is committed to protecting the interests of farmers. He directed officers to work with sensitivity and priority to ensure that farmers receive the benefits of government schemes and facilities on time. He said time-bound resolution of public grievances is a priority of the government.
The Cabinet Minister was chairing a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Committee at the local DPRC building on Monday at Fatehabad. A total of 13 complaints were taken up at the meeting, of which nine were resolved on the spot. In the remaining four cases, the officers concerned were directed to take necessary action and submit detailed reports at the next meeting.
During the meeting, farmers from Daiyar village complained that they had suffered financial losses due to incorrect objections raised against their cotton crop insurance claims. A report of the committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Additional Deputy Commissioner was presented at the meeting.
District Revenue Officer Shyam Lal informed the meeting that crop insurance claims amounting to Rs. 116.89 crore had been approved for farmers of the district, of which Rs. 68 crore had already been paid. Payments in some cases were pending due to mismatches. Following the directions of the committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner, the insurance company released Rs. 48 crore on July 23 to farmers of 33 villages.
An amount of approximately Rs. 30 lakh remains pending in some cases due to mismatches and the death of the farmers concerned. These cases will be resolved as per rules and the payments released accordingly.
Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi directed officers to ensure that farmers receive the benefits of the crop insurance scheme as well as all other government welfare schemes and that pending cases are resolved expeditiously in accordance with the rules.
Road level to be inspected again
Sadhu Jangra, a resident of Barsin village, raised a complaint regarding the level of a road constructed by the Zila Parishad. The Executive Engineer informed the meeting that the road level had already been checked and residents were satisfied.
The Minister, however, directed officers to inspect the road once again in the presence of the complainant. He said any deficiency found during the inspection should be rectified immediately.
Ensure quality in pipeline work
Sunder and other residents of Badopal raised concerns over the quality of a pipeline laid for drainage. Officials informed the meeting that action had been taken against the contractor after deficiencies were detected and payment had also been withheld. The pending work will be taken forward after the appointment of an officer.
The Cabinet Minister directed officers to complete the necessary action and ensure that the remaining pipeline work is completed at the earliest with high quality and in accordance with the prescribed standards.
Detailed report sought in road construction case
Kulwant Saini, a resident of Ratia, raised a complaint regarding construction of a road in an unapproved colony. A committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Additional Deputy Commissioner inspected the site and submitted its report.
Following a request by members of the committee for reassessment, the Cabinet Minister directed that the matter be thoroughly examined and a detailed report presented at the next meeting.
Canal watercourse to be opened immediately
Taking up a request by Shravan Kumar, a resident of Nadhori, for restoration of a canal watercourse, Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi directed the concerned Duty Magistrate to get the watercourse opened immediately so that adequate irrigation water is available for the farmer’s crop.
He said farmers should not face any obstruction in getting irrigation water.
13 of 14 demands of Safai Karmacharis agreed upon
Later, speaking to the media after the grievances committee meeting, Cabinet Minister Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said the State Government is taking the demands of Safai Karmacharis seriously. Of the 14 issues related to the Safai Karmacharis’ strike, an agreement has been reached on 13, while one issue involves certain legal and technical complexities.
He said he had also discussed the matter with the Chief Minister, who is taking the issue seriously and will consider the employees’ demand with sensitivity.
Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi said the government’s clear objective is to resolve the genuine problems of employees through dialogue and positive engagement. It is in this spirit that agreement has already been reached on most of their demands.
He appealed to Safai Karmacharis not to adopt a confrontational approach towards the administration and to maintain a peaceful atmosphere. He said the government understands their concerns and is sensitive to their genuine demands. While most issues have been resolved, the legal and technical process in the remaining matter still needs to be completed.
Sh. Krishan Kumar Bedi again appealed to Safai Karmacharis to have faith in the government, end their strike, return to work and take the process of resolution forward through dialogue. He said the government remains committed to resolving all genuine demands with a positive approach and will make efforts to resolve the remaining issue in accordance with the law and rules.
