SHIMLA-7 August, 2026-Technical Education Minister Rajesh Dharmani held an online interaction and feedback session with students from Himachal Pradesh, who are currently on an educational exposure visit to the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi.
The objective of this educational exposure visit is to provide students with practical knowledge and first-hand experience in emerging fields such as semiconductor technology and Very Large-Scale Integration (VLSI) chip design and fabrication. These domains are expected to play a pivotal role in shaping future technologies and driving industrial development.
During the interaction, the Minister sought feedback from the students regarding their learning experiences, the knowledge they had gained and their engagement with experts at IIT Delhi. He encouraged them to make the most of this opportunity by developing a deeper understanding of advanced technologies, innovation, research and the emerging career opportunities in the semiconductor sector.
Rajesh Dharmani stated that it is essential for students pursuing technical education to gain exposure to the country's premier institutions and cutting-edge technologies so that they are well prepared to meet the evolving demands of the rapidly advancing technological landscape. He also urged the students to remain curious, innovative and committed to acquiring industry-relevant skills.
The Minister expressed his gratitude to the entire IIT Delhi team for successfully organizing the educational exposure visit and for acquainting the students with the latest developments in semiconductor and VLSI technologies. He especially appreciated the efforts of Dr. Rajendra Singh and his team for their support in making the visit academically enriching and highly informative for the participating students.
Reaffirming the Government's commitment, the Technical Education Minister stated that the government would continue to provide the students with opportunities for industry-oriented education, practical exposure to emerging technologies and meaningful engagement with the country's leading academic and research institutions. Such initiatives, he said, would strengthen their employability and equip them to meet the challenges and opportunities of future technologies.
Director of Technical Education Rohit Rathour, who was also present during online interaction encouraged them to actively participate in the various technical sessions being conducted at IIT Delhi. He advised them to make full use of the institute's world-class resources, laboratories and technical expertise.
The students also shared their experiences and expressed gratitude for being given the opportunity to visit the prestigious IIT Delhi. They stated that gaining first-hand exposure to semiconductor and VLSI technologies had significantly enhanced their understanding of these fields and inspired them to explore new opportunities in research, innovation and advanced technologies.
