Election Commission of India has started several mobile apps for the convenience of voters and candidates

*Commission's online services can be availed through the app - Chief Electoral Officer

Chandigarh, March 26 - Haryana Chief Electoral Officer, Sh. Anurag Agarwal stated that in today's era of information technology, the Election Commission of India has launched several mobile apps for the convenience of voters, political parties and contesting candidates in view of the 18th Lok Sabha general elections. Shri Anurag Agarwal informed that these apps allow individuals to obtain information related to the election process and also resolve their issues.

Sh. Agarwal was presiding a review meeting regarding election arrangements with department officers. He stated that to make the electoral process simple and convenient, the Election Commission of India has initiated not only offline but also online services. For example, if a young man or woman of 18 years of age wants to register as a voter, they can apply online on the Voter Registration website. This facility is available until the nomination process for the Lok Sabha elections commence. Once the nomination process starts, it will be closed. The nomination process in Haryana will commence from April 29 and continue until May 6.

Similarly, a new app called "C-Vigil" has been launched by the Commission. Through this mobile app, any citizen can capture a photo or video if they notice any violation of the Model Code of Conduct in order to report their complaint, which will be resolved by the Election Office within 100 minutes.

He also mentioned that the Election Commission has created an app called "Candidate Nomination Application" for filing nomination papers online. Any candidate can use this app to file their application online and also deposit their security amount through online payment. Once the application is submitted, candidates can track the progress of their application using the "Suvidha Candidate App".

For returning officers, the Commission has developed software called "ENCORE" which contains essential data of candidates. A portal called the "Affidavit Portal" has been created to view the details of a candidate's movable and immovable property, affidavits, etc., online.

Similarly, through the Booth app, the service of digitally identifying voters has been started. Voters can download their voter slip by linking their EPIC card with the Voter Help Line app. The Voter Turnout app shows the number of votes cast in proportion to the total population. The Voter Portal and Voter Help Line app provide voters with the facility to view their data.

For the convenience of persons with disabilities, the Commission has launched the PwD app. Through this app, persons with disabilities can check their details such as name, voter identification card, etc.

Chandigarh, March 26 – The IPR, Innovation, Incubation and Startup Division of the Research and Development Cell and Management Studies Department of JC Bose University of Science and Technology, YMCA, Faridabad, jointly organized two-day Entrepreneurship Summit-2024. The event, sponsored under the PURSE Program of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, aimed to foster discussions on HR Challenges encountered by startups, providing a platform for insightful dialogues and knowledge sharing.

The inaugural session witnessed the esteemed presence of Sh. Naresh Grover, MD, Promptech Industrial Products Pvt Ltd, as Guest of Honour; Prof. S M Rounaque Mustafa, PoP, Entrepreneurship, DTU, Founder, CorporateVentureHub.com; Sh. Rajive Gulati, Former Head of Haryana’s Hartron Innovation & Startup Hub, and Ms Upasana Sharma, Joint ED, TiE-Delhi NCR, shared invaluable insights and experiences. The session was expertly presided over by Prof. Sushil Kumar Tomar, Vice-Chancellor of the University, who provided guidance and leadership throughout the discussions.

Prof. Tomar, in his address, underscored the importance of nurturing an entrepreneurial mindset among the youth, encouraging them to embrace innovation and become creators of opportunities rather than mere job seekers. He emphasized the critical role of entrepreneurship in driving economic growth and societal development, urging the youth to harness their creativity and passion to carve out their paths in the vibrant startup landscape. The day continued with a crucial discussion on HR challenges faced by startups featuring esteemed panellists such as Sh. Rajesh Munjal, Founder & CEO, mHealthAI;, Sh. Heeresh Girdhar, HR Expert with 19 years’ experience in HR operations and strategic leadership; Syed Farhan, Founder & CEO, Cosette Network, OnBenchMark; and Sh. Anand Dwivedi. Global Capability Building & Leadership Dev. Expert:Moderated by Ms Saloni Kaul, President, FMA & HR Business Consultant & Coach; the discussion provided valuable insights into navigating startup ventures.
