HAU Hisar to Organise ‘Krishi Mela’ on March 18-19

Chandigarh, March 16 - Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University (CCSHAU) Hisar will organise ‘Krishi Mela’ (Kharif) on March 18-19, 2024.

Sharing information in this regard a university spokesperson stated that the theme of the mela for this year will be ‘Importance of Drones in Farming’. He said that the use of drones in agriculture is the need of the hour and drones can be easily used to apply chemical fertilizers and pesticides in less time, which will save resources and will also reduce the cost. Farmers will also be taught how to use drones during the mela.

The spokesperson said that along with the farmers, companies, manufacturing seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural machines, and equipment will also participate in this mela. Farmers will have the opportunity to learn about the machines, equipment, their prices, and working systems suitable for various agricultural works.

In ‘Krishi Mela’ (Kharif)-2024, farmers will be provided with ‘Unnat’ seeds and biofertilizers of Kharif crops recommended by the university, besides agricultural literature. For this, sales counters will be set up at the mela in collaboration with various government seed agencies.

HAU Hisar organises ‘Krishi Mela’ every year in March in which thousands of farmers from Haryana and neighboring states participate.

CISF organises free health medical camp for its personnel and families in Haryana Civil Secretariat Chandigarh

Keeping soldiers and their families healthy is our priority: Sh. Yogesh Prakash Singh

Chandigarh, March 16- Senior Commandant, CISF at Haryana Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh, Sh. Yogesh Prakash Singh said that keeping soldiers and their families healthy is our priority. If a soldier is healthy, he will be able to perform his duty properly.

Sh.Singh was speaking on the occasion of a free medical health check-up camp organised for CISF personnel and their families at CISF Camp, Haryana Civil Secretariat Chandigarh today.

The camp was organised in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur, and the health of around 400 CISF personnel and their families was checked during the camp. Dr. ML Swarankar, Senior Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, PGI, Chandigarh, participated as the chief guest at the medical health check-up camp.

The camp featured a range of medical services including general health assessments, blood pressure monitoring (Hypertension), Liver check-up, blood sugar testing (Diabetes mellitus), BMI measurements, Coronary artery disease, ECG, BP Monitoring, Fibro Scan, Nutritional Assessment by Dietitian, and expert consultations on various health concerns. The screening was conducted under the leadership of Dr. Naimish N Mehta, Professor & Head, Deptt of HPB and Liver transplantation Surgery, Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur.

Senior Commandant, Sh. Yogesh Prakash Singh expressed gratitude towards MG Hospital, Jaipur for their cooperation in making this initiative successful. He emphasised the paramount importance of health and well-being, stating, "Our troops and their families are the backbone of our unit, and their health is our top priority. By offering these vital health services, we aim to ensure they receive the necessary care and support."

Chief Operating Officer, Sh. Sukanta Kumar Das and Deputy Director, Dr. Manu Kumar Soni from Mahatma Gandhi University Medical Sciences and Technology, Jaipur also remained present on the occasion.

Haryana Police Plans to Open 34 Creches Across the State

Chandigarh, March 16 - In a move aimed at supporting working mothers, Haryana Police plans to open Creches (Child Care Centers) within police lines across all districts. This decision comes after gathering feedback from female officers stationed in various districts, underlining the importance of ensuring the well-being of their children, said a police spokesman here today.

An atmosphere of joy prevails among female police officers thanks to the establishment of Creches(Childcare Center) initiated by the Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur in Karnal for the welfare of children. This initiative is a joint effort between the Women and Child Development Department and the Haryana Police, with Child care centers already established in 24 districts and efforts underway in 10 other districts.

It was mentioned that the Creches facility in Karnal offers modern amenities for children. Trained helpers and workers are deployed to ensure the children receive proper care, along with comprehensive food arrangements to meet their nutritional needs. Additionally, various sports equipment has been installed to promote healthy play and development. Notably, CCTV surveillance is in place to monitor the children, providing parents with remote access to observe their activities while on duty. Moreover, counselors and psychologists are appointed by the Haryana Police to support the children's mental and physical well-being.

Constable Sunanda, who sent her 2-year-old son Yuvansh Gill to Creche, expressed her gratitude to the Haryana Police, stating that the opening of the Creche in the police line has brought her immense relief, allowing her to perform her duties without worries. She emphasized that the environment at the Creches is safe and provides excellent facilities for the children. Constable Navdeep shared similar feedback, stating that she sends her two-and-a-half-year-old daughter to Creche, where she receives excellent care from the caretakers, bringing her great happiness. She expressed that she can now strike a better balance between her family and professional responsibilities.
