Chandigarh, 30 September 2026: As part of the ongoing special enforcement drive, the Food Safety Administration, Health Department, U.T. Chandigarh, has suspended Food Business Licence No. 13023001000029 of M/s Matru Tikki Wala, Booth No. SB1, Sadar Bazar, Sector 19-C, Chandigarh, with immediate effect.

The action followed an inspection conducted by a Food Safety Officer on 30 September 2026, during which major violations were observed. These were not merely procedural irregularities but serious lapses affecting the hygienic preparation, storage and handling of food intended for human consumption. Continued operation of the establishment in its present condition is likely to pose an imminent risk to public health.

Accordingly, the Food Business Operator has been directed to:

1. Immediately stop all food business activities from the date and time the order is served.
2. Not prepare, store, distribute or sell any food during the suspension period.
3. Completely rectify all deficiencies mentioned in the inspection report, in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and the rules and regulations made thereunder.
4. Submit a detailed compliance report, supported by documentary evidence and photographs, after completing all corrective measures.
5. Note that any violation of this order or continuation of food business during the suspension period may invite appropriate legal action under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, without further notice.

The Food Safety Administration, Health Department, Chandigarh, appeals to all residents and consumers to remain cautious and vigilant while purchasing food items from the market. Consumers should ensure that they buy food from shops that maintain proper hygiene and use quality ingredients.
