CHANDIGARH,10/9/2026 GRIID College of Excellence, Sector 31-C, Chandigarh, observed World Suicide Prevention Day with the objective of spreading awareness about suicide prevention, emotional well-being, and the importance of seeking timely help.
The program has started with pledge and followed by an impactful Nukkad Natak at the reception area of the GRIID premises. The NSS volunteers presented a meaningful performance highlighting the importance of mental health awareness, emotional support, early intervention, and encouraging individuals experiencing distress to seek help.
The programme was graced by Dr. Ajeet Sidana, Joint Director, GRIID, who addressed the gathering and briefed everyone about the Tele-MANAS mental health helpline and the AASHA helpline, emphasising the importance of reaching out for professional and emotional support during times of crisis.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. M. Karuppasamy, NSS Programme Officer, and Ms. Niharika, NSS Programme Officer. Mr. Anil, School Principal, along with the staff members of GRIID, NSS volunteers and other members of the institution, actively participated in the programme.The event concluded with a strong message that every life matters, help is available, and no one should face emotional distress alone.
The NSS Unit encouraged everyone to listen without judgement, support those in need, and promote awareness regarding available mental-health support services.
