Ludhiana 02 March 2026-The College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, organized Alumni Meet “Saanjh-2026”, drawing an overwhelming response from former graduates across the globe. Nearly 300 alumni, serving in diverse capacities from India and abroad, gathered on campus to celebrate their shared legacy and professional achievements.

Dr. Swaran Singh Randhawa, Dean of the College and President of the Alumni Association, warmly welcomed the delegates and reflected on the institution’s rich heritage in veterinary education, research, and extension. In his address, he emphasized the vital role alumni play in strengthening the university’s global reputation and fostering future collaborations.

The event was graced by Dr JPS Gill Vice-Chancellor, who lauded the contributions of the alumni in advancing animal health, livestock development, and public health services. He encouraged continued engagement between the university and its graduates to address emerging challenges in veterinary science. Dr Baljeet Singh Gill, Vice President, Research, University of Saskatchewan, Canada; Dr A J Singh, DG, Remount Veterinary Services and Dr Parmjit Singh Walia, Director, Animal Husbandry Department specially graced the occasion. Dr Kewal Arora, retired Assistant Director, Animal Husbandry Department meticulously conducted the event along with Dr Parmjeet Kaur and Dr Simranpreet Kaur. Alumnus and renowned singer Dr. Veer Sukhwant, a graduate of this college, mesmerised the audience with their captivating performances.

A solemn moment marked the remembrance of fellow veterinarians who have passed away, with participants paying heartfelt tributes to their invaluable service and dedication.

The meet concluded on a vibrant note with cultural performances featuring folk songs, dance, skits, and an energetic Bhangra presentation, celebrating Punjab’s rich cultural heritage and rekindling bonds among generations of veterinarians.
