Chandigarh, January 7:- The Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today carried out a comprehensive anti-encroachment drive in Sectors 40, 20, Village Kajheri and Manimajra as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure smooth pedestrian movement, public safety and orderly markets across the city.

The drive was conducted under the direct supervision of the Joint Commissioner, Sh. Himanshu Gupta, and was executed by the Enforcement Wing of MCC with focused action against illegal encroachments and unauthorised vendors.

During the drive, the enforcement teams issued a total of 124 challans to violators and successfully cleared encroached corridors of markets, restoring free movement for pedestrians and improving overall civic order. Challans were also issued to illegal vendors found operating in violation of municipal norms.

The Municipal Corporation reiterated that such enforcement drives will continue on a regular basis in different parts of the city to deter encroachments and to maintain cleanliness, accessibility and discipline in public spaces. Citizens and vendors have been advised to adhere strictly to the prescribed rules and regulations to avoid penal action.
