*SIX MRSAFPI CADETS GRADUATE FROM NDA*

Chandigarh, November 30:Six cadets from Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI), SAS Nagar (Mohali), graduated from National Defence Academy (NDA) Khadakwasla, Pune. The Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, reviewed the passing out parade, marking a proud moment for the young officers as they begin their careers in the Indian Armed Forces.

After three years of rigorous training, the six cadets - Gurkaran Singh (Mohali), Harmanveer Singh (Sri Muktsar Sahib), Arjun Singh Toor (Ludhiana), Rhythm Mahajan (Pathankot), Akshansh Aggarwal (Sri Fatehgarh Sahib) and Gurjyot Singh (Sangrur) - are set to join service training academies, paving their way to become commissioned officers in a year. Notably, these cadets underwent training at MRSAFPI during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development & Training Minister Mr Aman Arora extended his heartiest congratulations to the cadets, exhorting them to work harder and bring pride to the state. He expressed happiness over Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI's commendable results, acknowledging the institute's efforts in shaping these young officers.

Major General Ajay H. Chauhan, VSM (Retd.), Director of MRSAFPI, congratulated the cadets, stating that 15 cadets are awaiting call-up letters to join NDA and other training academies for courses commencing in December 2025, and 47 cadets will soon be proceeding for their Service Selection Board (SSBs) Interviews. He said AFPIANs' achievements bring pride to MRSAFPI and Punjab. Admissions for the new course at MRSAFPI are open till December 15, 2025.

*SEC decides elections for members of Panchayat Samiti & Zila Parishad Mohali be adjourned due to significant change in boundaries of Panchayat Samiti/Zila Parishad Mohali area*

Chandigarh 30 November 2025:The State Election Commission has been informed by Department of Rural Development and Panchayats that in view of the notification dated 28.11.2025 issued by Department of Local Government, 15 villages adjoining Municipal Corporation, Mohali have now been merged into the boundaries of Municipal Corporation, Mohali. The Department of Rural Development and Panchayats has clarified that due to this notification, the 15 Gram Panchayats of Panchayat Samiti, Mohali, are now excluded from the jurisdiction of the concerned Panchayat Samiti/Zila Parishad Mohali area. As there is now a significant change in the boundaries of Panchayat Samiti Mohali as well as Zila Parishad area, the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats is required to carry out the fresh reorganization of the same.

The State Election Commission, on the recommendation of Department of Rural Development and Panchayats as well as Deputy Commissioner Mohali has decided that the election process for carrying out the elections for the members of Panchayat Samiti Mohali, as well as for the members of Zila Parishad Mohali, be adjourned till such time as fresh reorganization of these zones is not carried out by the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats. To clarify further, the election to elect members of Panchayat Samiti DERA BASSI, Panchayat Samiti KHARAR and Panchayat Samiti MAJRI will proceed as scheduled.
