*Government strengthens health monitoring system through IT: Arti Singh Rao*
Chandigarh, November 26 – Haryana Health Minister, Ms. Arti Singh Rao said that the state government has launched several Information Technology (IT) initiatives to strengthen monitoring and management of healthcare service delivery at the community level. These IT initiatives will help in the optimum use of available resources.
Sharing information in this regard today, the Health Minister said that the “Vehicle Tracking and Log Management System” is a new IT initiative developed as a web application. Apart from this, Anemia Mukt Haryana, the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), and the WCD School Health Portal are other important IT initiatives.
She said that the “Vehicle Tracking and Log Management System” has been designed to ensure transparent and effective monitoring of the daily movement of mobile health teams. The system helps district administrators assign vehicles to specific teams and allocate visit locations. Each team logs into the application at the beginning of the day, records the opening odometer reading along with a photograph, and continues to capture odometer readings with images at each visited site. At the end of the day, after returning to the parking location, the team records the closing odometer reading along with a photograph. The application provides district administrators with a detailed daily travel report for each team, while state administrators can access a consolidated report of the total kilometres covered by all teams across the state, ensuring accountability and proper monitoring of vehicle usage.
Ms.Arti Singh Rao further said that several important upgrades have also been made to the Anemia Mukt Haryana (AMH) application to strengthen beneficiary monitoring, treatment, and follow-up. The system now captures detailed treatment information, including the name of the health institution, the medical facilitator’s name, and designation. Similarly, referral details have been enhanced to include the name of the referral institution, the name of the medical facilitator, and designation, ensuring greater transparency and continuity of care.
She said that all these improvements are fully reflected in the follow-up reports, ensuring complete tracking of every beneficiary’s progress. A comprehensive dashboard has also been developed for real-time decision-making. It enables users to track anemia levels of all beneficiaries across the state, view baseline and follow-up test results to assess improvement accurately, and access individual beneficiary details for targeted intervention. The dashboard also helps in identifying trends, addressing gaps in service delivery, and improving health outcomes for women and children. The system transforms data into actionable insights — because every life matters, she added.
Ms. Aarti Singh Rao further said that the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) application assists in the management and treatment of children aged 0 to 18 years suffering from congenital heart diseases. The platform simplifies the referral and free treatment process by ensuring timely identification of eligible children and facilitating their admission and care in empanelled government and private super-specialty hospitals.
She said that RBSK, in collaboration with the Women and Child Development Department through the Poshan Tracker, has introduced an improved method for monitoring children’s health and nutrition. This integration makes it easier to track essential health parameters and ensures that every child receives comprehensive care.
