Chandigarh, 16 November: The Viksit Bharat Abhiyan Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised a virtual fitness awareness campaign titled ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle- Youth for Better Earth’. The initiative aimed to promote cycling as a sustainable, inclusive, and eco-friendly form of physical exercise, encouraging students to adopt a healthier and more environmentally conscious lifestyle. The campaign invited students to participate from their own localities by cycling, and sharing either its photo with a caption or posting its short video on social media using the official hashtag #YouthForBetterEarth. The activity served as a creative step toward fostering environmental responsibility, and promoting personal fitness and mental well-being among students while amplifying awareness about sustainable mobility.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma lauded the impactful initiative that successfully blended fitness with environmental consciousness, and stood as a meaningful reminder that small lifestyle choices can collectively contribute to a greener and healthier planet. She motivated the students to embrace eco-friendly habits, highlighting the multiple benefits of cycling that include reduced air pollution, fuel conservation, and improved physical health.
