SHIMLA -17 September, 2025-Additional Chief Secretary Industries, R.D. Nazeem today here presided over the 2nd anniversary celebration of the Vishwakarma Scheme organised by the Directorate of Industries.
He inaugurated the occasion with the unveiling of a documentary showcasing the transformative stories of artisans across the state. He said that the state government was dedicated to foster traditional skills, strengthening rural livelihoods and advance the vision of inclusive and sustainable development in the state.
He also interacted with beneficiaries from various districts, listening to their experiences and success stories. He felicitated artisans and lauded their confidence, market readiness and efforts in promoting Himachali craftsmanship nationwide. He appreciated the officials and stakeholders for ensuring effective implementation of the scheme.
Director Industries Dr. Yunus said that the department was ensuring the smooth implementation of the scheme and working for the development and welfare of beneficiaries. He said that the department was committed for nurturing traditional skills and enhancing livelihood of artisans in the state. He said that over 19,000 new applications have been approved and 12,000 artisans have already received training..
Additional Director (Administration) Dr. Harish Gajju along with representatives from the MSME and banking sectors were present in the meeting. The beneficiaries of the scheme joined both in person and virtually from all districts.
