Chandigarh, July 9 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that under the Swamitva Scheme, the Municipal Council Ambala Sadar has so far received around Rs.33 crore in revenue, and residents of Ambala Cantonment are taking full benefit of the scheme.
He informed that under the scheme, the Municipal Council Ambala Sadar has approved 58% of tehbazari, rent, and lease applications that are over 20 years old. So far, registrations have been completed in 438 such cases, and the applicants have become shop owners. He said that instructions have been issued to municipal officials to expedite the remaining pending cases so that more people can gain ownership of their shops.
It is worth noting that the Swamitva Scheme was implemented in Ambala Cantonment due to the efforts of Cabinet Minister Anil Vij. Under this scheme, shopkeepers who had been operating under tehbazari, lease, or rent for more than 20 years were to be given ownership rights to their shops.

Cabinet Minister Anil Vij said that under the Swamitva Scheme, the Municipal Council Ambala Sadar invited applications from tenants who had occupied municipal council shops for more than 20 years to grant them ownership rights. A total of 734 tenants applied, out of which 535 cases have been approved, and registrations have been completed for 417 tenants—who are now no longer tenants but shop owners. These shop owners can now also construct multi-storey buildings on their premises.

Cabinet Minister Anil Vij said that 223 tehbazari applications were received under the Swamitva Scheme, out of which 126 cases have been approved, and 21 have already been registered. The registration process for the remaining cases is being carried out swiftly. Similarly, 190 lease applications were received by the Municipal Council, and further actions are underway.
Due to the efforts of Haryana's Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Anil Vij, Ambala Cantonment was included under the Swamitva Scheme. Earlier, the scheme’s benefits were not available in Ambala Cantonment due to it being an excise area. However, Minister Anil Vij fought for the residents and ensured the scheme was implemented there.
Shops located on Railway Road, Rai Market, Gandhi Market, Sabzi Mandi, Rambagh Road, Bus Stand, and several other locations under tehbazari and rental agreements in Ambala Cantonment have now been granted ownership rights.

Chandigarh, 9 July: Haryana's Energy, Transport and Labour Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the old and dilapidated block of Ambala Cantonment Government College will be demolished and a new block will be constructed in its place. He has issued instructions to the college administration and PWD (Public Works Department) officials regarding this today.
Sh. Vij was issuing directions to officials after redressing to the grievances of the people from his Ambala Cantonment Assembly Constituency at his residence today.
While instructing the officials, he said that demolishing the old block and building a new one in the college will provide better facilities to students and staff. It is worth noting that the old block of the college was constructed several decades ago and has now become structurally weak.
*Instructions to increase 100 seats each in BCA and BBA at Government College*
The principal and staff of the Government College requested Minister Anil Vij to increase the number of seats in BCA and BBA courses by 100 each. They mentioned that there are only 100 seats for BCA while over 1,000 students have applied. Similarly, for BBA, around 700 applications have been received, but only 60 seats are available. Sh. Vij immediately directed the ACS (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Education Department to increase the number of seats by 100 each for both courses to accommodate more students.

Members of the Management Committee of Government School Chhabiyaana, along with BJP leaders Jasbir Singh Jassi, Varinder Singh, Surender Sethi, and others, met Cabinet Minister Anil Vij and demanded reconstruction of the school. They said that the school was closed a few years ago, and children had to be shifted to Babyal, which is far away. Minister Vij approved the demand and recommended to the Education Department that a new school building be constructed there.
*Energy Minister directss transformer replacement after elderly woman’s complaint*
An elderly woman from Paras Nagar, mother of a military officer, complained to Minister Anil Vij that a transformer was forcibly installed in front of her house by some local individuals. Although she had deposited the required amount with the Discoms to have the transformer removed, no action had been taken so far. Minister Vij took serious note of the complaint, reprimanded the concerned XEN, and ordered immediate action to replace or relocate the transformer.
Similarly, a businessman from Ambala Cantonment submitted a complaint regarding a fraud involving Rs 17 lakh. He alleged that the accused purchased goods worth Rs.17 lakh from his firm but never made the payment. Minister Vij directed the Mahesh Nagar Police Station to take appropriate action in the matter. He also received several other complaints and issued necessary instructions to concerned officials for follow-up action.

Chandigarh, July 9 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labour Minister Sh. Anil Vij visited Civil Hospital in Ambala Cantonment today to get an X-ray of his toe. During the visit, upon witnessing the mismanagement, he severely reprimanded the staff of the MRI and CT scan centers, which are operating under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Cabinet Minister Anil Vij had been receiving complaints that patients visiting the MRI and CT scan centers were getting their reports after four days.
Reprimanding the center staff, he said that, “Patients are not receiving their reports for four days – if I receive any more complaints, strict action will be taken. You have turned the center into a joke. If patients suffer, action will be harsh. I have put my full hard work into building this hospital and you’re being negligent here. The test report should be given to the patient the same day.”
He added that “This center runs on the PPP model – that means one ‘P’ is for the public, one for private, and the third ‘P’ is for partnership, which is with the government. But here, you’ve started behaving as if you own the place.”
Minister Vij gave instructions to the PMO of the Civil Hospital, Dr. Pooja Pental, and other officials present at the spot, stating that every patient coming to the MRI & CT Scan Center, Heart Center, and Dialysis Center under the PPP model must have a card made before their checkup or test. He further directed that daily reports must be compiled.
He stated that the officers should maintain registers and verify when the CT scan was done and when the report was handed over to the patient. A complete card must be made for each patient. All three centers should have a computerized system in place.
*Expressed Displeasure Over Incomplete Hospital Cleaning*
Minister Anil Vij also found deficiencies in the hospital’s cleanliness during his visit today and expressed displeasure to the officials present. He said that any negligence in cleanliness would not be tolerated.
It is worth noting that a few days ago, Minister Anil Vij had also visited the Civil Hospital and found the air conditioning switched off and other mismanagement, for which he had reprimanded the officials on the spot.
