Two arrested under Arms Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Vishal R/o H.No. 1937, Mauli Complex, Age-24 years and Vishal @ Bleta R/o H.No. 2447 Mauli Complex Chandigarh, Age-19 Years and recovered Kamanidar Knife from their possession near T-Point, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh on 27.04.2024. In this regard, a case FIR No. 43, U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One person arrested under NDPS Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Malkit Singh @ Paramjit Singh R/o VPO Bath, Distt- Tarntaran, PB, Age-28 years and recovered 61 gm heroin from his possession near CTU Workshop, Sector 43, Chandigarh on 27.04.2024. A case FIR No. 83, U/S 21 NDPS Act has been registered in PS-36, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 35, U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of Rajbir Singh Rai R/o # 1230, Sector-33, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person cheated Rs. 1,90,762/- through online transaction regarding stopping of international services on complainant’s IndusInd Bank Credit Card on 17.04.2024. The investigation of the case is in progress.

A case FIR No. 36, U/S 419, 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B IPC has been registered in PS-Cyber Crime, Chandigarh on the complaint of a lady resident of Sector-49, Chandigarh who reported that unknown person cheated Rs. 74578/- through online transaction regarding giving discount for booking of lemontree hotel, Rishikesh through complainant’s Citi Bank Credit Card on 26.04.2024. The investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

Yoginder Singh R/o District Food and Supplies Controller, Thirty Base Building, Second Floor, Sec-17, Chandigarh alleged that Rahul R/o # 1525, DBC, Sec-25/D, Chandigarh and others stole away government documents/files from said office. A case FIR No. 76, U/S 381, 34 IPC has been registered in PS-17, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Burglary

Amrik Singh R/o H.No. 2402, Sector-39/C, Chandigarh reported that unknown person stole away Rs. 15000/- cash, 01 golden chain, 01 golden ring, some clothes, DL, Pass Books/Cheque Books and Aadhar Cards after breaking the main door locks of his house on 26.04.2024 to 27.04.2024. A case FIR No. 74, U/S 457, 380 IPC has been registered in PS-39, Chandigarh. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Assault

A case FIR No. 58, U/S 323, 324, 341, 506 IPC & 25, 27, 54, 59 Arms Act has been registered in PS-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Vikash R/o H.No. 1300, Village Burail, Chandigarh who alleged that Anil R/o V.P.O. Katiharhibagh, PS-Tamkairaj, Distt Kushinagar, U.P attacked on complainant with knife near at Park, Sector-33D, Chandigarh on 27.04.2024. Complainant sustained injuries and admitted in GMCH-32, Chandigarh. Later alleged person has been arrested in this case. Investigation of the case is in progress.

CHANDIGARH,28.04.24-In a major breakthrough, under the overall supervision of Ms.Kanwardeep Kaur, IPS, SSP-UT Chandigarh, under the directions of Sh.Mridul, IPS, SP-City Chandigarh, a team led by Sh.Charanjit Singh Virk, IPS, SDPO/South-West and Sh. Jaspal Singh, SHO, PS-Maloya was formed and achieved success in sensational blind murder of an unknown person and in which Case FIR No.42 Dt. 23.04.2024 U/s 302, 397 IPC, PS-Maloya UT, Chandigarh was registered.

Brief facts of the case:

  1. On 23.04.2024, at about 07.25 am, a wireless message had been received from Control Room that an unknown person found lying near Ram Mandir, Maloya opposite, PP-Palsora, Chandigarh. During the investigation, the deceased was identified as Ajit singh S/o Late Sh. Munshi Ram R/o Gali No.9, Near Gurudwara, Jujhar Nagar, Distt.Mohali, Chandigarh who was working as SPO in Haryanapolice. Upon this, the above said case has been rregistered.
  2. Through human intelligence, technical support and by showing professional acumen, PS-Maloya team (Chandigarh Police) arrested accused namely Jaswinder Singh @ Jassa S/o Balkar Singh R/O # 12 Gali No-06, Vikash Nagar, Patiala (PB,) Age-22 Years and Rohan Singh @ Gullu S/o Nachhter Singh R/o Village-Lang, Distt-Patiala (PB), Age-19 Years on 27.04.2024. During the investigation, one mobile phone and Motorcycle (belonging to deceased) looted by the accused has been recovered from their possession. Accused were using the said Motorcycle by fixing fake number plates. During the interrogation, they disclosed that they had come to Chandigarh by train and were not well versed with the city and when they were standing on a road near Sector-17 and were walking towards Sec-16 garden, they signalled one motorcyclist to stop. The motorcyclist who was wearing Haryana Police uniform asked about their presence. They told him that they wanted to go to Patiala from Anandpur Sahib but the train did not stop at Fatehgarh Sahib. Hence, they landed in Chandigarh. The motorcyclist/policeman agreed to drop them at Gurudwara Sahib, Sohana as they requested for. But the motorcyclist/policeman took them to Gurudwara Sahib, Phase-6, Mohali and parked his motorcycle in the Parking area, and took them to jungle area near Dudhadhari Mandir, Sec-56 and insisted them that he wanted to talk with them regarding some secret issue. However at the said spot, an altercation occurred between the deceased and the accused. Thereafter both the accused overpowered the deceased. They also used stick knife which they had purchased from Anandpur Sahib. In the meantime, they also attacked him with bricks and he fell down. Thereafter, they fled away from the spot by taking his belongings i.e. Wallet, Mobile Phone and Key of the motorcycle. They fled by using the motorcycle of the deceased from the parking.

  1. 1. Jaswinder Singh @ Jassa S/o Balkar Singh R/O # 12 Gali No-06, Vikash Nagar, Patiala (PB,) Age-22 Years. Height-5’8”, Education- 10+2, Fair Complexion,. As per interrogation, 02 case FIRs i.e. Excise Act and MV theft found registered against him at PS-Urban Estate, Patiala.
  2. 2. Rohan Singh @ Gullu S/o Nachhter Singh R/o Village-Lang, Distt-Patiala (PB), Age-19 Years, Height-5’6”, Education-9th pass, Fair complexion. As per interrogation, 01 case FIR of house theft found registered against him at PS-Tripadi, Distt.Patiala.
