Chandigarh, 6 October: The Naval Wing of the NCC at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women paid tribute to the valour and sacrifice of the Indian armed forces. As part of the programme, NCC cadets took an oath pledging their commitment to national security and presented posters expressing their respect and gratitude towards the soldiers who safeguard the nation. The event also featured an insightful lecture by Cdr-P Priyambada Sahoo (Retd.), Indian Navy, who spoke on the role of the Indian Navy in ensuring national security. She also highlighted the Navy’s role in disaster management and its efforts in responding to natural calamities such as floods.
Officiating Principal Ms. Neena Sharma appreciated the NCC Naval Wing for sensitising students to the responsibilities of citizenship and the significance of national security. She said that such initiatives instil patriotism, discipline and a sense of responsibility among young minds, while fostering respect for the armed forces and their contribution to the nation.
