Chandigarh, 10 April: Health Committee and Department of Physical Education at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, in collaboration with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali, and under the aegis of 1 CHD Naval Unit NCC, organised a hands-on training workshop on First Aid.
The workshop featured expert resource person Dr Damandeep Singh (MBBS, Emergency Care), who imparted practical knowledge and essential life-saving skills to the participants. The training focused on handling a wide range of emergency situations requiring immediate first aid. Participants were trained in managing nosebleeds, heat stroke, cramps, cuts and wounds, drowning incidents, strains, snake bites, fire burns, fractures, as well as cases of hyper- and hypotension. Special emphasis was laid on the correct practice of CPR and PRICER techniques, along with demonstrations of various types of bandages, taping methods, and effective bandaging procedures. The session also highlighted the importance of maintaining a well-equipped First Aid kit and guided participants on its preparation.
Officiating Principal Ms Neena Sharma appreciated the initiative and emphasised the importance of first aid awareness and preparedness among students, stating that such training empowers individuals to act promptly and responsibly during emergencies, potentially saving lives.
