The birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is observed every year on 12th January as National Youth Day, commemorating his timeless message of youth empowerment, self-belief, discipline, character-building, and nation-building, PUNJAB ENGINEERING COLLEGE (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY), CHANDIGARH organised a 5 km run today in the university.

Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, addressed the NSS volunteers on the university campus. Highlighting the importance of Swadeshi, he administered a pledge to adopt indigenous products.

Appreciating the placement outcomes, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, stated, “It is time to lead structural change in how higher education prepares talent for the future".

“True education finds its fullest expression when learning transcends the classroom and becomes a lived experience.”

The College Principal Mrs. Neena Sharma lauded the dedicated efforts of the NSS Units and expressed that such initiatives play a pivotal role in nurturing responsible citizens rooted in Indian values while being conscious of contemporary challenges.

The entire event was nicely organised by student volunteers of E1math society and STEM cell of the university.The visiting team also had an interactive session with Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of CUH, who appreciated their unique initiative and encouraged students to participate in research-driven academic outreach activities.

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, organised a two-day CBSE Capacity Building Programme in English under the able guidance of the school Director, Mrs Reema Dewan.

Dr J.P.S. Gill, Vice Chancellor informed that the Veterinary University confers Chief Minister Awards in different categories.

Officiating Principal Ms Neena Sharma also actively participated in the workshop, motivating the faculty and contributing to the spirit of camaraderie.
