The 75th Governing Body Meeting of the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee (CPCC) was held under the Chairmanship of Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Chairman, CPCC-cum-Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration today on 13.11.2025.

The event was graced by Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Chairman, Social Welfare Committee of Administrator’s Advisory Council, Additional Solicitor General of India & Ex. Member Parliament Lok Sabha, Mrs. Anuradha Chagti, Secretary Social Welfare, Mrs. Palika Arora, Director Social Welfare, Mrs. Shipra Bansal, Chairperson, CCPCR, Sh. Ankit Srivastava, Under Secretary, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and Sh. Mayank Bhardwaj, National Coordinator, Smile, Transgender Persons.

In his inspiring address, Shri Mahendra Singh extended best wishes to all participants for a bright future. He urged the youth to imbibe the spirit of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” and to play an active role in the nation’s development. Emphasizing that the youth are the true strength of the nation, he encouraged them to move forward with confidence and determination.

The inaugural programme was graced by Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, Chief Secretary, UT Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest, and Ms. Anuradha S. Chagti, CSS, Secretary, Social Welfare & Women and Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, as the Special Guest.

*For effective public grievance redressal, Shri Prasad directed that a Public Grievance Portal be launched by 15th December 2025, enabling citizens to conveniently register and track their grievances online.

The Governor called upon the people to follow the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji as and continue to seek inspiration to walk on path of righteousness in the service of humanity.

The DC also stressed upon ensuring that the Chandigarh Pavilion reflects the city’s progressive image and innovation-driven governance model through creative and citizen-centric exhibits.

In a major enforcement action, the Estate Office, Chandigarh Administration, today carried out a demolition drive at Elante Mall, Plot No. 178-178A, Industrial Area, Phase I, Chandigarh (Property IND–150) to remove unauthorized constructions and restore compliance with the sanctioned building plans.

The event was inaugurated by Shri H. Rajesh Prasad, IAS, Chief Secretary, Chandigarh Administration, under the MY Bharat initiative of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, in collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Department of Youth Welfare, Panjab University.

Dr. Suman Singh, Director Health Services-cum-MD NHM, UT Chandigarh, was the Chief Guest for the event. Dr. Ranjana Mehta, Programme Officer (NIDDCP), highlighted the various activities undertaken by the IDD Cell, UT Chandigarh, and shared the key achievements of the programme.

In his inspiring address, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria extended his warm greetings and heartfelt congratulations to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India for launching the visionary initiative “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.”
