Participants must either be residents of Chandigarh or students of a school or college located in Chandigarh. Aadhaar Card, Residence Certificate, and School/College Identity Card or Bonafide Certificate issued by the concerned school or college will be required as proof of eligibility.

A Pradhan Mantri National Apprenticeship Mela (PMNAM) was organised at Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Sector 28-C, Chandigarh, on Tuesday under the supervision and guidance of Ms. Palika Arora, PCS, State Apprenticeship Advisor-cum-Director, Technical Education, U.T. Chandigarh.

The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria today inaugurated the Lok Bhawan Crèche at Sector 7 under the PALNA Scheme of Mission Shakti, marking another step towards providing safe, quality childcare facilities for children and greater support to working parents.

The tournament was declared open by Dr. Atul Dhakne, DANICS, Additional Director Sports, who interacted with the participating athletes and encouraged them to pursue sporting excellence with discipline, dedication and a positive attitude.

Punjab Governor Shri Gulab Chand Kataria honoured Commonwealth Games (CWG)-2026 silver medallist and international weightlifter Harjinder Kaur at Punjab Lok Bhavan, Chandigarh, in recognition of her outstanding sporting achievement.

NEWS RECEIVED FROM DPR UT CHANDIGARH

The Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, today felicitated 995 promising sportspersons with scholarships worth ₹3.80 crore at the ‘Khiladi Khel Samman Samaroh’ organised by the Sports Department at Tagore Theatre, Sector-18. Scholarships of ₹48,000, ₹42,000 and ₹36,000 were awarded to first, second and third-position holders, respectively.

The 26th meeting of the District Road Safety Committee (DRSC) was held today under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh, Sh. Nishant Kumar Yadav, IAS. The meeting was attended by the Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) and representatives of various stakeholder departments, including the Engineering Department, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, Chandigarh Traffic Police, Health Department and other allied agencies.

Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

The Governor arrived at the venue at 5:00 PM and was accorded a ceremonial welcome by the Police Band. ‘Vande Mataram’ was played, followed by the National Anthem.
